Wait, what? So the code you get isn't for a free 800pts? You have to use the $30 you just cashed in to buy a $30 gift card which then becomes $40? So basically you have to give Microsoft your $30 you just cashed in for an additional $10?

And this is why I don't bother buying games on launch day. Less than two months after it releases and it's almost half the price.

Hmm, looks like it's still cheaper to buy the game and compendium separately but the box art is nice. I was hoping we'd see some deals on the standard $30 version but seeing as how it releases so close to Christmas and it's only $30 I'm assuming we won't see anything like that.

If you have something from the MS store that you want to put the $25 towards I'd say go with that. You get a bonus skin (that you could always sell on ebay for a bit of cash if you want) and that $25 is a decent chunk off another game or accessory. I would do it but I don't need any points and...
