Kill Bill is the outstanding one of the bunch, especially considering how awful the regular covers are. I was most excited to see they didn't do it in separate volumes...then I scrolled down to see vol. 2 :wall:

Does the use of the term "wave #1" imply a wave #2 later on?
I was bummed Scott Pilgrim wasn't on here, but if there is a chance that could happen I might be importing my first steelbook.

My guess is that these will be FutureShop exclusives, like the past ones.

Which means you either know someone in Canada to get them for you, or you pay inflated prices for them to import them.

Either way, they look like steelbooks, so that's a good thing.

I thought those two and History of Violence were the most unoriginal of these. The art on the KB steelbooks were on posters and other media (like the soundtrack). The art for most of the other movies here, especially Memento and No Country for Old Men are more original and likely only found here.

still, the history poster was a nice piece of art and definitely should've been the bd/dvd cover to begin with, so i don't think it's all that bad. also, i believe the no country one was a poster too, but, again, it's a nice photo to use.

my only gripe with memento is the ugly font used for the 'from the director...' text and chris nolan's name. and the back of that steelbook better be the exact same as the front but backwards!

Holy lord, those are wonderful... The Memento, No Country, A History of Violence, Kill Bill 1 & 2, Pan's, and Shaun just look beautiful...

Memento & Shaun of the Dead will (hopefully) be mine. I would get Kill Bill, but I'm one of those pathetic ones still holding out for The Whole Bloody Affair.....
As far as region goes? Will these blurays play on U.S. players? Sorry for the noobish question... :(
Canada is the same region as the US.

It's the steelbooks from other parts of the world you need to be wary of for region locking.

Damn I guess I may have to get in contact with some buddies who live up there to order No Country for Old men, Shaun of the Dead, and Hot Fuzz for me or hope that Amazon.ca will carry the items.

These steelbooks are excessively awesome, especially when you compare them to the crappy WB ones in the other thread. Must...have...these...STEELBOOKS!

I guess no one really looked at the 4 links I posted?

I saw them, but I didn't want any of the ones you posted @_@

Actually Amazon.ca has all of them, just search Steelbook.

I think I might just order from them. It'd be like $30US Shipped for one, or around $54 shipped for two. Not bad. Thanks for the heads-up Koji

Now that's a different story. :3

Those are done nice looking steelbooks. I might get kill bill 1 and 2 and momento. Going to try to have the wife to get that for me as a holiday gift.

Guys, there are other sites as well.

Amazon.ca
AxelMusic.com
HMV.ca (with 2 early exclusives)
FutureShop.ca (Ship within Canada Only)

My favorite site is
CDPlus.com (Free First Class Shipping)

Awesome, thanks.
I recommend CDPlus! :D I'd ordered The Lord of the Rings Trilogy DVD SteelBook when it came out and arrived 3 days later, wow!
So what is the best way to search for the Steels from them? I type in Steelbook and I am worried that I won't get the correct item since the description says nothing of it being a Steelbook

select In DVD, type steelbook, under Config. you'll see Blu-ray Disc (Non-Music) along w/ price & date.

So other than FutureShop.ca all of them ship to the US?

I think if I keep picking up steelbooks they'll become all I buy. However, Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz are looking good.

damn these are looking good. does Canada have weird 'symbol' art work though? Like triangle signs, octagons, you know, like movies from other other countries that indicate region or ratings..

Out of 1500 titles, not one of mine is non-US, so I'm semi-hesitant to get into it..

aww sweet thanks! and thanks for the threadz, I can't believe you didn't get crap about starting 2 ;), but I get the point now..pretty cool stuff!

I have to get no country and memento, I don't have either in my blu-ray collection yet so seeing them as steelbooks = a must.

Are any of these improvements over the US versions? I'm also guessing they're 1 disc, few/no extras?

Memento will soon be mine :)

@h0mi They'll almost certainly be the same discs as before, alternative packaging. I dont see them changing it.
Holy lord, those are wonderful... The Memento, No Country, A History of Violence, Kill Bill 1 & 2, Pan's, and Shaun just look beautiful...
I'd say most of them are WAY too text heavy. I mean, they completely ruined the aesthetic of Traffic and No Country for Old Men.

Kill Bill and Pan's are decent, though.

If you're looking for another site that might have some of these at some point, check out inetvideo.com. They have the No Country Steelbook, as well as one for Gangs of New York.

I never ordered from another countries site so I'm bait hesitant on ordering. How has your order process gone like?
