Sheesh talk about some bad luck.
Yesterday coming home from work someone rear-ended my parents 2nd car, a Ford Taurus which I had borrowed while mine was in the shop getting a new water pump. The damage was very mild, just a few marks on the bumper, no dents or breaks and the car is already old so we just let it go.
To add insult to injury today though I'm visiting my parents house for the weekend, their Taurus is in the driveway. My newly fixed car is parked on one side of their driveway and their silver Century is parked on the other side. I'm sitting upstairs in my old room when I hear 2 loud bangs but no glass breaking or anything. So I ignore it figuring it was a truck passing by. Then I hear screaming for me to get downstairs.
Turns out some woman sideswiped my parents silver Century (which was in immaculate condition, barely used), totally smashing in the driver's side door and raking the entire left side of the car. She then continued across the driveway and rammed my car head on, totaling it and knocking it back 20 feet (luckily no one was parked behind me). All this in a 25mph zone.
My car is a lost cause as the damage is definitely more than it's value. The body all over the front is damaged, the radiator is toast for sure, as is the steering wheel spins forever so that's gone too.
My parents car is probably gone too since a mechanic told us exactly where she hit it is pretty much where the frame is, and if that is bent the car is a goner.
Luckily no one was hurt and she has insurance. Our cars were parked and empty and the woman driving someone was fine but sheesh.
