I got nothing special today, but I feel that I have to brag a bit..

The other day, I went to a TRU and they had their GCN battery packs marked for $10.98... however all they had was the plantum one (which doesn't match my `cube at all)... I decided to go ahead and get it since it was a good price, but when I checked out, it rang up $7.48 ($8.02 with tax)... A good deal, I thought.

Anyway, I decided to wait to open it to see if I could exchange it at a different TRU for a different color... Today, I went by the other TRU and went to exchange it... And I'm not quite sure what happened, but I didn't have my receipt on me (didn't think I'd really need it), but they had their battery packs marked $39.98... but when I went to trade mine in, mine rang up $10.98 and their's rang up $3.29, and the lady at the counter said something about giving me the difference on a gift card... Trying to clarify what she was doing, I asked and she said something about it being on sale cheaper now and that she'd have to put the difference on a gift card... I told her that I had purchased the first one on sale... and she got a wee bit rude and insisted on putting the difference on the gift card (I think maybe she thought I wanted cash back or something...) Anywhoo, not wanting to tick her off anymore, I just nodded and said thanks and walked away with the battery pack in the color I wanted and a gift card for $8.15 - $.13 more than I originally paid for the battery... Again, I'm not quite sure how this worked out, but I didn't really want to argue with the girl at the counter anymore... she was kinda scary.

Then I went into EB... I didn't see much of anything around, but I did see three decks of Mario Party-e e-Reader cards in the case behind the counter. Now I'm a huge e-Reader fan (with all 1,000+ american released cards) and although I already had a deck of the Mario Party cards, I've been kinda wanting another to mess around with without fear of messing up my set... After this long, I figured the cards had to be marked down fairly cheap, so I asked and, long story short, the manager gave them to me because apparently they were no longer in the system for sale and were supposed to be destroyed at the store level...

Then I went to a wonderfully junky used book/movie/music/video game store and, while I found nothing too thrilling, but I did find a book based upon the old text based adventure game "Zork" (dated 1983!)... and it's a choose your own adventure book, so that makes it even more cool... and it was only $.79, so that makes it the coolest! ;)

And finally, we went to the Tumbleweed to eat where it was apparently all-you-can-eat sirloin steak night... so I had five (6-8 oz) steaks... all for $13.99...

Yeah, tonight was a good night for me. :)

For some reason the title of this post made me think of a Friends episode "The one with five steaks and an eggplant."
Anyways good score for you, it's funny how the girl got mad at you for trying to be honest with her.

my tru might actually have those mario party decks....I think they got mixed in with the regular trading cards (like the yugioh and pokemon cards).

I'll look tomorrow.
