quick question, if i use the 3 game, can i use the games again for a demo disc? Or will I have to reregister another 5 games?
Nope, the 3 games you registered will be active for upcoming promos.
Worst. Magazine. Ever!!!!!
You sure about that? You might want to take a trip to your local Barnes and Noble or something. You might be surprised at some of the crap you'll see.

Anyways, thanks OP.

That's probably the reason behind the big overhaul. I've been a constant subscriber since their second or third year, and my subscription has recently lapsed for the past couple of months and I'm not feeling in an hurry to renew. It used to be they gave subscribers such incredible freebies and promotional items, but these days there are no benefits in being a subscriber. I've signed up for this free trial, and I'm really hoping they're steering the magazine in the right direction this time around.

Thanks OP. I'm a current NP subscriber and qualified for the 3-free issues... although when I check my subscription status, the free issues aren't reflected yet (in other words, I don't see issues tacked onto my present expiration date). Maybe the transaction hasn't been processed yet. Is this the same with everyone else?

I've been reading NP since 1988 and been a loyal subscriber for 15-years (since 1990). The mag definitely peaked in the early-mid 1990s but it's an ancient relic that I like to have around or when I'm feeling nostalgic.

I used to subscribe to NP back in the day. I even have the pre-NP newsletters that came out. I stopped subscribing to it in 1999 I think. I read it every so often in Barnes and Noble, but the magazine is so bad these days. I wrote many e-mails to NP over the years to change the magazine and I posted my criticism on the forums. It’s nice to see they are finally improving the magazine.

i only have 2 registered, DS system and Mario Ds. I dont have my DS anymore either........ Anywhere i can find codes? Are they single use only? I haven't touched a Niintendo Power since i subscibed during the SNES glory years.

Hasn't showed up on mine.
And thanks OP.
I've been subscribing since mid 90s, 93 or 94.

Same here. I've been a subscriber since the free Dragon Warrior game + Game Atlas + SNES Guide + Zelda 3 Guide + Gameboy Guide promo they ran back in the early, early 90s. I finally just let my subscription run out last month. I still love reading the early issues, but not this crap.
thanks, when will the first issue arrive?
So apparently, it'll start with the E3 issue.

I just got the email also... I'm an existing subscriber and they tacked on 3-issues to my current subscription. Sweet!

So now it ends in December 2005... that'll buy me more time. I usually renew whenever NP offers these game packages (Wind Waker, Mario Sunshine, etc) that comes with free t-shirts, strategy guides, etc... I hope they offer a cool Twighlight Princess/1-year NP package before then.

Anyone wanna PayPal me $3 for this? I have a registered Nintendo account and I just checked my email and they are only waiting for confirmation to verify the addy. I can FWD the issues to you as I receive them.

could someone just pm me with a code i can regisiter, i have some gc games but i dont work, i only have a serial code for gc and gba, please i only need one more code for this

I still have my Megaman Pogs as a freebie from NP.
Anyways, I think (key word) that if you read the fine print, you'll find you pay for 12 issues that includes the first 3 issues you got "for free" so that means you end up paying for it.
Thats how most magazines run "free trials". I had got this email but I deleted it.

What it says is at the end of your FREE trial of 3 issues you'll be able to get a year's subscription for $12. Won't that make it a total of 15 ( 3 + 12 ) issues?
Did someone say the first issue we get has some kind of Zelda DVD?
I received my FIRST issue today. It is V.194, the August 2005 issue and it has the Zelda DVD in the center of the magazine. The label has Sep05 -- I guess that's the expiration date but that would only make 2 issues.

I wonder if it was a limited time offer and I missed the July05 issue as the FIRST issue. Mario is on the cover. Has anyone received this one yet?

Just picked up the DS free w/ Mario, so I got 2 more codes and finally signed up for this deal. Hope I'll get the August issue, as I'd like to get my hands on the Zelda DVD. Thanks for the heads-up, whoever on the first page said that we could use these same products for future promos!

It also includes a Link fold-out poster.

Zelda DVD?

I haven't kept up reading the mags lately si I'm in the dark about that... although I flipped through the recent issue and the new redesigned layout looks sweet.

They extended my current subscription an additional 6-months, through December 2005.

I didn't get my July issue either, though it was supposed to have arrived by June 15 according to Nintendo's website...
I'm emailing 'em and seeing if I can get an extension or get them to resend the issue.

Thanks. I've already registered 7 games and my GC and a DS, so I'm already qualified.

I got a email from Nintendo about a month ago that said they were sending me 3 free issues and that I had to do nothing. Still waiting...

I finally got my first issue (193) yesterday, a little late. Mario Kart on the cover, Zelda DVD inside.
I was a big fan of N.P. when I was a kid - started subscribing at issue 4 and kept it up until the N64 days. But... not to look a gift horse in the mouth, but has the quality degraded over the years? I thought the revamp was supposed to hook older readers...
Thanks to these 3 free issues, I'm now subscribed to NP until March 2009 (v. 237).
How'd you manage to lock down NP through 2009?

I think the most I've ever had was maybe 2 or 3 years in advance (renewing whenever they throw in some cool freebies) but never 4-years like you.

Lucky... i still haven't got the MK issue yet.

I've been a subscriber since 1990 and I think the revamp actually makes NP a much better mag, at least compared to what it has been the last few years. It's less kiddie, more mature, more informative and visually appealling.

The only problem is that NP is no longer unique, it looks exactly like other mags on the market (GI, EGM, PSM, etc.)... oh well, I just keep NP around for nostalgic reasons anyway and to take advantage of any promos they have sometimes.

I ordered a lot of the bundle deals (Mario Sunshine, Metroid Prime, Pokemon Ruby & Sapphire, Pokemon Leaf Green, and Pokemon Fire Red to name a few) that they had that came with a game, the strategy guide, and a year of NP. I was going to buy the games and guides anyway, so I figured I might as well get another year of NP at little to no extra cost while I was at it. I also ordered another year to get a second copy of the Zelda Bonus Disc (after already qualifying for one copy by registering products on Nintendo's website).

I also don't know what someone's complaining about getting the new NP issue with the DVD a little late for. I've been an NP subscriber since the free Dragon Warrior for NES offer and am subscribed through March 2009, and I still haven't even gotten that issue yet.

Sweet... that's what i do also, buy the bundle deals from Nintendo (although I'm not quite as prolific a buyer as you)... I think the last one i did was the Zelda 4-swords bundle last spring.

Seems like Nintendo has really got you hooked on the Pokemon franchise... i never got into that game for some reason... the GBC version Mario Golf reminds me of Pokemon a bit.

Just got mine today, kinda odd that I got the August issue when the email said that I would get the July issue first. Looks like I'll have to email Nintendo about this.
