So I realize that I need a larger hd for my 360 (its old an phat). A 120 is just going to be filled up after I redownload everything, so I am looking for a 250 gb.

Anybody have an idea where to get one cheap? And has anyone had good/bad experiences with non-MS made hds?

Go with an official one. I got a third party on amazon for $60 and it failed a month ago after little over a year, lost so much save data...really sucked. I know WalMart.com has 320gb for $109 online and BBY will pm it. I never though about gamestop refurb but that's worth a shot too.
 
I think he needs the origianl fat HD. That being said, if you go with the new 320gb as ColFantastic stated, I believe there is a way to convert it for use on the fat 360s.

 
I would take advantage of cowboom with their 15% off code. They have plenty of 250GB 360's and I'm sure you can find one at the right price.
