40% off DVD and Blu-Ray at Liquidation Circuit Citys

theego204

CAGiversary!
Just got back from my local CC that is liquidating everything, and their stock of Blu-Ray and DVDs is now 40% off. I saw a video game post of the same nature, but didn't see anything about movies on here about it.

Pretty good deals if you can find anything worthwhile. I got the :br: Resident Evil Trilogy for $53.99 (originally 89.99).
Unfortunately, 40% off does not always mean best deal when its starting at MSRP.

Amazon has the trilogy for $50 =0
Yeah the MSRP for DVDs still $30.

I just got back. The DVDs are really expensive because of the too high MSRP. The BDs aren't too badly priced after the discount. The TV DVDs were wayover priced. Deadwood for 80, Sopranoes for 60, etc. It took me a while to find a few 6.99 movies that were woth it.

Well that brings a BD with a $28 MSRP down to $17. That's not too unreasonable. I normally wouldn't be tempted but I have a $10 GC to unload.

I wish a Circuit City near me was closing. Closest one that is is like a hour and a half-2 hour drive.

Hoping all Circuit Citys eventually close.

The CC near me is permanently closing in seven days. I'll go there this Wednesday or Friday and see how low the prices will go.

Yeah, I did get a few deals at my local CC on BF but other than that they kinda stink bigtime. Too bad the one near me's still there.

Wow that's a horrible deal.

$18 a movie? For Resident Evil? Meh

You still buy DVDs?

hmm I'm going on a road trip soon and I'll be passing by several Circuit City stores that are on the closing list

is there any way to tell if some of them would still be open on the 23rd? :?:

I buy most BDs at CD Warehouse. They're 16 dollars or less per disc, guaranteed. Most are around 12-14 for pretty good condition pre-owned.

For all intents and purposes, new, retail BD are waaaaaaay too overpriced.

Isn't this Cheap Ass Gamer? If my DVD is over 5 dollars, no way in hell am I buying it. And no I do not own a PS3, or an HD TV for that matter. My average DVD price is just over 4 dollars; I am indeed so cheap that I track that and make sure that I maintain my low price. So yes, I still buy DVDs.

EDIT: Also, those 6.99 DVDs that I found was before the 40% discount.

Stopped by, looked, figured the not so great blu-ray that was left would be even cheaper before long on Amazon and such. Did find Ace Attorney Apollo Justice for the DS though, same price as Amazon after 40% off, but I figured I would get it then. Good bye CC, it was fun while it lasted.
