"3G sought to define an image that would symbolize cutting edge technology, combined with top of the line features and quality. They have accomplished this with the OP-42TN2 plasma display. This 42" plasma TV provides a cinema-feel for your home theater. View widescreen broadcasts and DVDs the way they were meant to be seen. The 3000:1 panel contrast ratio produces deep blacks, brilliant whites and truly vivid colors.

With every scene, the picture is clear and vivid, capturing and revealing every detail, even in bright light. Plasma screens are impervious to picture distortion and negative color balances that afflict CRT monitors when placed near lighting or sound systems.

With a plasma screen you get colors like you've never seen before, extremely wide viewing angles (wider, even, than those of most LCD screens), and easy placement due to a plasma monitor's slim profile: the OP-42TN2 is a mere 3.54 inches deep, perfect for desk or wall mounting. It comes with a stand, speakers and tuner."

Pretty good price. However, read about it, and there seems to be no reviews of the TV currently. But, there are many at fatwallet and AVS that ordered.
I might just wait to see how their review of it is.

bump.... looks good.. but its hard to buy a tv without physically watchign it first.. anyone with experience on this one (i think i'll wait until 42" hit 1000 to pick up mine).. good deal none the less...

Well it isnt even available yet. Ships the 15th. And some people at AVS and fatwallet ordered, so Ill take a review from them, if its good definatly buy since these retail for $4000 or so.
i already have one :)
The exact same one? Or some other 42"plasma that you purchased for $1400 ?

Hmm...if this TV doesn't completely suck, then that is one hell of a price. I hope to hear some good reviews...if so, I may have to get one.

3G is a generic brand...but that doesn't necessarily mean it won't be a good TV. I just got a generic ESA-brand (which is just a Funai TV with an "esa" logo stamped on the front) 27" CRT TV to hold me over until I can get a flat-panel, and it's great. So, I'll definitely give this one a chance.

wow this actually looks pretty good considering that its a brand I never heard of before. But yeah I think i'll just wait for reviews to wave my choice

Nice. I'll try to swing my dad to put up for one in the guest house. Rocking sound system in there, but a measly 27" WEGA. Boo.

Keep us updated on the reviews.

i just realized....this tv doesnt have true hd, 1024 x 768 means that the tv maxes out at 480p, which is just EDTV. If thats the case, then u might as well but the esa 42" plasma tv from circuitcity and get a ftree dvd player or something.

I dont know much about HDTVs, but Im baseing my purchace off of
http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=543321 and
http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/messageview.php?start=0&catid=18&threadid=477914

And there have been similar questions to that hunter said, and also was said often in those 2 topics. Just to pull out the quick answers to that you stated.

"1024x768 won't display all of HD's true resolution, but industry "standards" says 1024x768 is HD.
You're not going to get much better than 1024x768 in a 42" panel. There are a few that are higher res, but not many."

''1024 x 768 resolution is HDTV.

-------

That is correct! Furthermore, PC connection has incorrectly listed it as MAX when in fact it is NATIVE according to the manufacturer website. As I and others have said, THIS IS AN HD plasma with an LG panel!"

And it goes on like that. Of course, people are biased and would pick one or the other, if its HD/ED, or what to pick. The site says HD, I might believe them, and as they said in the topics, if you arent satisfied with your purchace you can return it.

Of course, since its so new, Im chillin untill the 15th, thats ther first shipment. Soon after there should be some reviews to influence you decision in your purchase.

That thread on Fatwallet is fucking crazy; it's an information warzone. It's hard to pick out the good info from all the talk going on in there. I guess I'll just have to wait for the reviews.

I really, really, really hope this is a good TV...

Just revisit both topics every now and then and read the new info. Id stay more with the AVS, fatwallet is just EDvs.HD warzone, then LCDvs.Plasma, and people wanting to save little more.

I also hope its a great TV, then after seeing lots of positive reviews, convince my dad to buy it.

Note: Next shipment is July 7th.

i was thinking of purchasing a display model of a sanyo 42" plasma it retailed for about 3000 and they want 1500.. i know its an amazing deal.. but i don't have that kind of credit anywhere.. so it'll have ot wait until i pay and clear my credit card for me to even touch it. i hope it stays that long.. yeah.. the resolution isn't the highest.. but yeah.
