7-21-07: The Day the Boy-That-Lived Dies

Hopefully Scholastics largly pristine track record of keeping spoiler leaks to basicly nothing remains intact.

Just got an email from Borders/Waldenbooks saying that they are now taking preorders, 40% off MSRP. No idea why I got this email considering I don't give a shit about Harry Potter, but there you go.

That reminds me, I suggest anyone not interested in Harry Potter stay away from Borders or any book store the day the book comes out or when events are going on. When the last book came out, there was a party at the Border's I happened to be at. It was crazy, kids and adults were coming in dressed as wizards with the robes and costumes (the kids I can understand but the adults?), they were making paper wizard hats had Jelly Bean tasting (the weird Harry Potter flavors) and other stuff. It was very crowded too. I wanted to get out of there fast.

This wasn't obvious to you in the first place?

I didn't realize a new book was coming out that day. Had I known they had events and there was a new book release, I wouldn't have gone that day.

Well, all I can say is that if you don't like Harry Potter, stay the fuck home July 13-22, cause its going to be fucking crazy between the new movie and the book coming out. I anticipate a big box office drop for the new movie in the second weekend simply because everyone is going to be home reading the new book instead of going to the movie :p
