I saw a marketing poster that stated

"75%" off all SNES, NES, GEN, DC SYSTEMS, Games, and Access."

May be YMMV since most GS/EB stores don't carry these anymore, but for the ones that do they should be 75% off according to the marketing poster.

Not sure when the deal begins, some are saying the 21st of August, but I will try to find out. The poster for the sale came in with the 8/16 Gamestop/EB marketing kit.

When are they going to clearence PS1? For gods sake we are entering ps3 time here and my GS/EB havent moved a single PS1 game in months.
 
ooooh, i'm checking tomorrow to pick up a DC :D

DC's would be 3.75!

My EB also has the entire floor covered in old gen games.
They're in large floor bins and beneath the bins are piles of old systems.
Mostly Ps1 and N64 though
 
NES? What store possibly has any NES stuff. The rest is kind of iffy because I've seen all of them at least semi-recently (in fact, I know of an EB store that's a goldmine for Dreamcast stuff...) but NES?
 
I've got skies, grandia, shenmue, so what else is there that's good on DC? will the Wii also sell DC on their virtual console (if it does maybe I'll wait for that)?
 
Dang, my local EB has the floor bins with Genesis, NES, SNES, and Dreamcast games in huge quantities. This is probably gonna be pretty amazing...I think they even have a few DC consoles. I sure hope they do, as I've been needing a replacement DC for a while. Huge, huge thanks, OP.
 
I'll have to check it out. The EB I go to get's all the other stores old games every Thursday, so there's usually a few good games. Thanks OP!
 
Heh, anyone know what EB sells NES consoles for? Saw a couple boxed systems at one EB here a few months ago.

Too bad I cleared out any good SNES games from my EBs at 50%, not that they would have stuck around 10 months if I hadn't. All that's left anywhere I've seen is crappy N64 games.
 
Hmm...I wonder if the Generation NEX qualifies...

I'm sure it doesn't, but you could always ask.


Oh yeah....my EB/GSs have DICK for old stuff.

i can name about 4-5 eb's in my area with tons of nes games....and some accesories.

time to pick up a few needed dc games...

I remember going to one here in New Jersey that had an ASSLOAD of games, Harvest Moon and a bunch of RPGS.

Where!?! I just moved to JC and my friend gave his DC two weeks ago. I really want Kane, Shenmue and any other adventure game I can get my hands on

Some EB's I go to have a little cart that has maybe 7 or 8 NES games, but they are all garbage.

1 EB I went to a few months ago had some decent games, like Crystalis, Megaman 2 - 3, some others I can't think of but they got sent away when the store remodeled.
 
It's great how they include Dreamcast with NES, SNES, and Genesis. Poor, poor Dreamcast...so underappreciated.
 
I just got back from an EB: confirmed...

According to my local sales droid, this campaign kicks off on August 21. They already had the signs behind the counter. It's definitely 75% off of all NES/SNES/GEN/DCAST stuff. :cool:

Can you do price adjustments within a certain time period at EB/GS? I found a local store with a DC system, but I don't know that it will still be there by the 21st.

This one Im thinking of is actually in Bayonne. If your at all familiar with Bayonne (its the next town over from JC) its the big EB all the way at the end of town in the A&P plaza.
 
So this doesn't start until the 21st? Man, I had gotten my hopes up to go buy a ton of stuff from my EB today.

Anyone else confirm this?
 
I just ran to my local store during lunch knowing they dont have this stuff but just to check. confirmed.

I went today, tried to pick up a few odds and ends from DC and SNES. Mentioned the 75% off and the guy said it wasn't coming up. He discounted the games for me anyways. So I was relatively happy. But not the full 75% off.

So this deal is not on yet. Not on like Donkey Kong.
 
I see the occasional crappy NES or Genesis game at older EB stores. They are usually in the $2-5 price range, so I guess I'd buy them at 75% off just for trade bait. Only Dreamcast games I have seen are sports and they are already marked down to 50 cents each. What's 75% off 50 cents? Heh.
 
My EB's replaced all their classic games with tons of those crappy Atari Retro Game Pads months ago. Thanks for posting anyway OP, this is a great deal for anyone who can find anything that employes didnt already snap up.
