8600 GT 256 versus 9400 GT 512

Is an MSI 8600 GT 256 actually faster than a MSI 9400 GT 512? I'm beginning to feel duped.

I bought a 9400 GT and installed it as an "upgrade." How misleading.

Same thing happened to me years ago... "upgraded" my card with more MBs... then realized my old card was much better...

8600 GT is great for overclocking to... yeah sorry you got owned.

You'll learn quickly, numbers don't mean a damn thing. The 9400, no matter how much memory it has on it, is an overall terrible card. Just search for benchmarks or reviews before purchasing hardware you are unsure about. Sites like Tomshardware, Guru3D, etc... are all very reliable.

Yeah Nvidia's new 9500 GSO (or something like that) is really just a 8800 GS in a new box.
