good stuff, lets hope everyone else feels the same way as this lil guy
I don't think this really proves anything. That kid couldn't keep any of the controllers straight. Who knows which one is his favorite.
It proves EVERYTHING!

"Because it's more fun!" QFT. Get over your Sony fanboyism and accept the truth already.

lol...Dude. Just give up. You've lost.

Total innocense. No bias or prior notions of what is "cool" or "gay". The most objective review that could really exist. Bravo, Wii!

Yeah it will be interesting to see how much this might turn into a "toy" and how hardcore gamers will feel about that. Alot of games will be geared toward young kids because of this along with the cheaper development cost. Might even open a whole slew of educational games and maybe some VC games.

Please define hardcore gamer. To me a hardcore gamer is one who will go after all gaming, because it's FUN.
Isn't this the same kid that owns everyone in Halo 2?
Nah that's Lil' Poison you're thinking of. He's like 8-years old.

LoL

Do you have any idea how easy it is to lead the answers of a 5 year old.

I'm a huge fan of the idea of the Wiimote, this is a cute video, but it proves nothing.

You're all forgetting the real issue here. He wasn't even paying attention to trhe questions because he was so engrossed in his game; rather than staring at the controller and yelling he was playing. It's a good sign--and when did the anti-Wii crowd start trolling the Nintendo boards bashing things? If you're gonna have an intellegent talk about the system, you're welcome to stay. If you're just going to mock it or be dumb, go away. Thanks. :)

Ok guys. Well some guys, the ones without any perspective. He's five years old. He enjoys playing a game. He likes playing games. He had fun playing with the Wii and his reasoning that he likes Excite Truck more then he liked playing other stuff. There's really not too much to discuss here.

Please Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft fanboys. Get some fucking perspective, and stop trying to turn everything into system A is better then system B.

A few things. I refuse to believe that 8 year old in halo is the one beating people... he just talks on the mic while big bro beats up on the big baddies for him. Whenever he goes to competitions he actually is being played by a dwarf double.

As for this, while the kid is reviewing it on which is the most fun to play we also have to consider tihs kid is at the same age where we all loved playing with action figures and toys.... we cannot compare what he feels is the most enjoyable experience to what the avereage teen-adult will. Sure the wii is likely to be a lot of fun but this is a silly review.

And why would this journalist think we want to see his son on video? Show us the game being played not the kid waving around a controller to a system that might not even have the power button on!

Simmer down, spanky. The dude's a dad. My guess is he's just proud of his kid.

You've also made some outstanding points on not taking the product review of a five-year-old too seriously. Way to be.

QFT

Lately, hardcore gamer has come to mean someone that plays to be cool. They'll throw down 600 bones for that PS3 but then they'll just get Madden for it. They'll use the crappy old modem standby cheat in Halo 2 or they'll quit in the last minute of a losing football game. They not only love to mess around with the people playing against them but they'll mess around with the people playing with them. They'll never play Okami, Psychonauts, or Beyond Good & Evil because they might have to think about more than expoiting a fatigue glitch in Madden or sniping teammates in Halo 2 because they're "easy targets". Sorry for the OTT rant. Back to the glorious Wii!

I have a wife and a four year old daughter and this will be the perfect system for us in the coming years. We'll still be able to play Mario Kart but now we'll be able to throw down on some Wii Sports or Zelda. I'd love to get a PS3 or 360 but I'll have much less time to play some of the cooler M rated games. With my family a DS (and probably a Wii) this year, it looks like Nintendo will have my family hooked for another 5+years.

people need to chill out, I just posted it because its a cute kid playing a new system. If you wanna take what a 5 yr old says as definitive proof on whether a console will be successful or not you got some real problems

Never said it was definitive proof. Just that it was going to be a good console to have in the living room. I'm getting mine at Costco on Sunday morning.

That kid doesn't seem to have been scripted and it didn't look like he was coerced. You could see the entire time that his eyes were glued to the TV. Now he might have been led to say certain things but I don't understand why people are seeing this as anything but a kid having a good time playing some videogames.

no I agree with you post, its the people that were proclaiming that this "isnt" or "is" proof on how the Wii will turn out in the mainstream.

All good, homey.

I still don't understand how you can hate on any of the new systems coming out. I'd love to have all three systems but time and money are a factor so I'll choose one to get now and the others I'll get after price drops.

Dude, I hate Sony. Nintendo has always been and always will be my favorite. And I'm sure as hell gunna be waiting in line for hours on end to get my Wii the moment it's available. I just personally don't think that this video proves anything because it didn't seem like the kid could keep the controllers straight. That's all.

I don't even see why there is argument about this. It's a kid, he thinks it is cool. That's not a rallying cry for Nintendo fans and it's not some sort of comment on why Nintendo may be kiddy.

Geez. Take this for what it is - a cute video.

Yep. I have a feeling the next week or so is just going to end up with people acting the fool all over the internet. Between two console lauches and bunch of kids off for the thanksgiving holiday, I expect fanaticism to run rampant, and the fanboys to crowd nearly every oriface of the videogame-related sectors of the net.

Prepare for the fanboy onslaught. God help us all. I might just stay away from here for a couple weeks. Otherwise, I'll be very disappointed in the way things are going in gamer land.

i like that gaming is turning into one endless and highly annoying pissing contest over which system is better, as opposed to being about the GAMES. i have all the consoles from last generation, and once the price is right, i'll have all the consoles for this generation. i'm into gaming because of a desire to experience fun games, not out of some blind, entirely worthless devotion to some faceless console company, and i know i'm not alone on that.

and the video was cute.

The kid has a real "shut up and let me play, bitch" mindset going on.

Yea... er... I... wha? Whatever, just go away.

It will be "who's winning the console war" for quite some time.
