Im finally trading in my psp for a DS.

First of all with the online play in certain games I.E. Mario Kart DS do you have to buy the USB connector or just have wireless internet?

Also what games are good im probably going to get Mario Kart DS and The New Super Mario Bros. Because i have heard those are good.

Let me know of any other Great games.

You just need wireless internet for online.

Kirby is definately a great game to get, and I'd also recommend picking up Castlevania.

Dragon Quest Heroes is a great action/collecting type game. Advance Wars is a great strategy game. Phoenix Wright is a great adventure game. Daigasso and Ouendan are extremely fun rhythm games (imports). Cooking Mama is very fun, basically mini-games in the form of recipies.

Probably wouldn't be a bad idea to start up lists of well-liked games for each genre... makes it a lot easier to point someone to games they would probably enjoy.

I'd research to make sure your router works with N wifi, not all do. And the DS doesn't support WPA, so if you use that to encrypt your network, you'll have to dial down to WEP.

Good games: Castlevania, Mario Kart, Animal Crossing, Advance Wars, Kirby, Super Mario 64, Mario and Luigi, Phoenix Wright, Trauma Center, Meteos, Tetris, New Super Mario Bros., and all the good GBA games.

Indeed!! I've gotten hooked back into it this past week... 0ver 70 hours of gameplay to date, and I haven't really even touched the campaign or most of the maps. This one is so solid... almost *TOO* fun and addictive.

Personally I didn't like Kirby much-I'd rent that first. And I HATED Metroid Hunters. Awful control IMO. Rent first!

Now the real, 2D Metroid games are great, as are the Castlevania games, a ton of the RPGs, etc. Tons of great games for it between the DS and GBA.

How well does it work with GBA games?
My GBA:SP shoulder buttons are basically done for now (too much Metroid Fusion and that damn jumping spider...) and I'd like to replace it with a DS Lite, but if the GBA support isn't all that great I might just get a micro or another SP instead.
Although I just heard about Contact and that might put me over the edge....

Well I've had a DS Lite for about a week now and its great! I just can't seem to get it to work with my router (I'm admitidley completely retarded when it comes to this kind of stuff...) and I haven't had a chance to go to a Wi-Fi hotspot to try it out yet. Perhaps I'll do that next week?

I bought Tetris, New SMB and Contact so far. My mom got one after she saw mine and bought Tetris, Club House, Sudoku Gridmaster, Brain Age and Big Brain. She's never played a video game in her life and now basically all she does is play the games.
I've created a monster.

Definitely add Clubhouse Games to your list--WELL worth the money, IMO. There's a ton of games and Wifi playing is a blast!!

by far the ds is my favorite gaming system. I have about 30 games and I love almost all of them (25 to be exact). You really cant go wrong with the DS.

Super Princess Peach. Seriously, it's a better platformer then New Super Mario Bros, and NSMB is a pretty good game!

Tetris, Cooking Mama, the 2 Brain games, Nintendogs and Kirby are all awesome :)

EDIT: Oh and Trauma Center. But if you are getting a Wii, get it for Wii :)

The DS looks better than any GBA will. It does not allow for linking up to the Gamecube or other GBAs for multiplayer. As long as those features aren't important to you, the DS Lite is the way to go.
