Any $500 HP,Dell, or even Compaq, should be good enough nowadays....Now, if u want to use it for gaming, that is another issue completely, I currently a have a HP Pavillion that at the time 2 years back, got it for $500 without monitor of course...and for gaming I bought a geforce gtx 260 and my $500 system is good enough for gaming, for me at least....

Either that, or just check the Office Depot Weekly Ad, they consistently have great offers.
For current gaming, you'll need to buy a separate card for another $50-$100 minimum, unless you pay big $ for a gaming rig.
