ADV Dads and Grads sale

Another ADV sale, items 50-75% off. Items will most likely have a small hole drilled or punched out of the UPC, but other than that are usually fine. Also, their customer service sucks (had to call 4 times and email twice to cancel an order, and still have not received a refund from the memorial day sale). However, if you know what you want to order and don't refresh the final order screen, these are great deals on some good series.

I thought they would have another sale this weekend. I'll see what they have OP, but I'm probably not going to get anything, especially with the DDDVD sale going on right now and what I bought from it.

Well they took off the Blue Seed Box Set this time around (only one I was actually thinking of getting since I canceled my order of it from Rightstuf.) and I see that they have nearly all of FF Unlimited. I've always been interested in seeing some of that show. Anybody know what it's about/is it any good?

They got Steam Detectives listed again this time. I wonder if it'll go out of stock like it did last time. Eh...the show doesn't really interest me that much, guess I'll pass.

Only thing I would really recommend from this sale this time around is the NEon Genesis Evangelion that they're selling. They nearly have the entire series I believe (just gave it a quick look over) and they're not too bad price for those that haven't picked it up/didn't get in on it when Rightstuf had it for $40.

No, it's not good at all (mildly entertaining at times, I guess), but if you're really dying to see it, there's a box set coming out in late July that will cost far less than ordering each volume during the sale.

Yeah Final Fantasy Unlimited seems awful. Its got the whole "annoying little kids as main characters" thing going and doesn't follow any Final Fantasy plot.

To comment on Final Fantasy Unlimited, I think the overall feel was too much like watching a Final Fantasy game rather than watching an anime. While it might have made for a decent game (and actually could have been quite a bit more interesting than some of the plots that Square has used lately), the overall presenation made for a somewhat mediocre anime.

Also keep in mind that it's somewhat rushed near the end: from what I understand, it was originally intended to be 52 episodes, but bombed in Japan and was cut short at 25.

NO need a good story in RPGs. I love kids/teens save the world from a evil bad guy. Thats it. As long as the Battle System and the Music is good im fine. o yea BTW FF unlimited did suck. very boring. Blue Seed was not that good either.

Why Pay $9 a piece & shipping and your UPC code is Punch/Drill a hole on it if you are pretty lucky or you'll received scrath dvds or loose disc.

NOT WORTH IT!

I recommanded take advantage on DDD 20% off sales but watchout some anime titles you can get it cheaper in someplace! :)

I bought about twelve of them for under $100.

How did I do that, you ask?

Signed myself up, with the 11 e-mails I have/had, as a club and got a discount.

Yes, I'm a loser. But a freakin' genius loser. ;)

I'm not really sure what you mean. Please clarify as this post made absolutely no senese. 12 of what? Why would you need 12 especially when you risk the chance of each of everyone of them coming damaged?

Actually I have ordered over 35+ titles from the ADV sales past and have had no problems with package, scratched discs, customer service etc. I had a very small hole drilled into the UPC and that's been it. Shipped for me was fairly quick as well given the number of times I have ordered. I think some of these prices are very worth it. In regards to the DDD sale while it is good, much of that anime can be bought cheaper. The DDD sale is great for many things, but single disc anime prices don't compare to some of these adv prices, expecially for the art box sets.

He is referring to the ADV Advocate program. Sign up a club, be it school sponsored or local library, college etc. Have an adult run it, get 10+ members and you get a free preview DVD every month, discount codes and other goodies on a regular basis. You can sign up for it at ADV.com or check a recent issue of Newtype-USA

Yes, exactly. I got 40% off on the DVD titles I bought, hence allowing me 12 different good ones for under $100.

It's a good thing to do. I just used my high school e-mail and it worked.

I've ordered probably $700-800 worth of stuff from ADV over the past 3 months and I have no problem with them at all. Great stuff, cheap prices (I only buy the discounted stuff) and the times they screwed up my order, not only was it fixed quickly but I got to keep the stuff they sent by accident.

Awesome, that makes me feel alot better about buying all that I did. I dont care about a hole punched in the UPC or anything, I just want them to come complete. :D

Hmm, I searched the site for Steamboy and couldn't find it.

Who makes Steamboy?

Sony owns the rights to Steamboy. It won't be out on DVD in America until July 26th.

Hey I bought DVDs from the last sale and still have not arrived yet. DOes it really take this long? I emailed them and they said it will take 1-4 weeks. This site seem kinda fishy to me. I spent over 100 dollars on the last sale too and they dont give you any tracking number or whatever.

They are weird with shipping. It is sometimes slow, and sometimes not. I've gotten nothing for a week or 2 at a time, then got 3 or 4 packages from them on the same day. They must do all their shipping in clumps or something. Maybe when they get a certain amount of orders.

They're safe just that their website sucks since they don't let you track your order in anyway and the only way is to call a customer representative of their's or to constantly e-mail. that can be a major headache. They aren't the best in the customer service department after using DDD and Rightstuf (especially rightstuf). Their shipping takes a while also for some reason. You're paying for the shipping at something like $5-6 I believe and it still takes them that long. Very strange. I've really stopped working with them unless it is something I really want/need/must have like when they had the Samurai X c.d. I prefer to just work with Rightstuf mostly for my Anime needs.
