Advice on a media player outside of VLC (for HD and flvs)?

I've been using VLC for a long time but since upgrading to Win 7, VLC is giving me all kinds of trouble.

-can't skip (using the sliding bar)/fast foward flvs
-no audio in many flvs (porn is as good without sound sometimes...)
-HD videos are slow to skip and sometimes freeze (they play fine, otherwise)
-many videos (regardless of format) start out very blured/discolored/pixelated when they start or when I skip (WMP doesn't have this problem)

There's more but these are the most pressing issues. I have the latest version of both WMP and VLC Player. I heard WinAMP is a good player but I can't get it to play flvs.

I use WinAmp for music because it's equalizer and audio presets are great. It's not the best for video though in my opinion.

You could try deleting and cleaning out your audio/video codecs and download a new package (Klite, CCC, etc...), along with reinstalling VLC Player. That may fix your issues.

I use GodLikeMouse (GLM) Flash Video Player for playing flvs; I dunno if I would call it "good" but it is functional in a bare bones kind of way.

CCCP. Seriously. It's a codec pack, and it comes with Media Player Classic. Perfect for watching that 1080p HD porn as well as flvs ripped from Youtube-like porn sites.

Media player classic is my choice for video files (only program than can nicely handle MKVs on my comp). BTW, have you tried Windows Media player? If the problems persist in that program then you might have a problem either with the codec (decoding them) or hardware/drivers (again, on decoding them).

Media Player Classic is great. I think I'll use that instead of VLC from now on.

The audio on some of my flvs still don't work... I'm guessing it's something else since everything else is working fine.

I found something called JW Desktop Player and it actually plays all flvs perfectly but can't play anything else. I guess I'll have to keep that around.

Thanks everybody.
