Alex Rodriguez to NY Yankees Sweet

It is amazing how the WORLD CHAMPION MARLINS KICKED THE YANKEES ASS yet the only team espn talks about is the yankees.

Coming from boston area, I know that yankee fans are loving the thought of picking up arod, but I highly doubt that the two teams and arod can come to an agreement that all will like...Now I am not a sox fan, but the amount of work that the management of the sox put into getting that done, was amazing, and unlike a grumpy manny with poor fielding in OF for the rangers, they will get a very poor fielding soriano, the Ks a lot. Now the rangers will be saving a lot more money then if they had completed the deal with the sox, and that is what the team wants, but the yanks want the rangers to swallow the contract, and have arod rework it...I just highly doubt that it will go thru, and if it does, I am sure the thought of a league salary cap will come into play sooner rather then later..as of now the sox have the 2nd highest payroll and that is approx 50million a year less then the yanks...adding arod will bring them up close to 190 million a year payroll
the yankes suck. I'm all for the Seattle Mariners!!!!
A Seattle Mariners fan in Michigan?

I'm with you. I think the Yankees indeed suck, but that's because I live in Seattle and we can't stand the Yanks. A-Rod is alright though. I had no beef when he went to sign with the Rangers for the big $$$.

go marlins....representin baby....they wooped them billion dollar yankees

So I'm guessing the lineup is like this if it goes through:

1b: J Giambi
2b: M Cairo
3b: A-Rod/Jeter
SS: A-Rod/Jeter
C: J Posada
Lf: H Matsui
Cf: B Williams
Rf: G Sheffield

It'd suck to be the 2nd baseman in that lineup, publicity wise. You got A-Rod and Jeter starting off the DP and Giambi on the other end finishing it off.
Screw the Yankees...this will be the year my Tigers win it all!

8-[

What?
Let's go Red Wings!!
GOING TO WORK!! YEAH PISTONS!!

GO TIGERS.... AND TAKE THE LIONS WITH YOU!!!

Yay. Who will the Yankees face in the World Series this year....I'm glad I don't watch baseball much anymore...it's almost like professional wrestling - the same guy almost always wins.

Only real baseball team in NY are the Mets.

And yes I am excited about getting an autographed Giambi baseball. He was an A before he was a Yankee so I can like him. :D

I'm begining to think that a salary cap is all that's going to save Baseball. I see the game that I have loved all my life transformed into a predictable shell of its former glory. Yankees get a by to the playoffs each year. The Cubs, no matter WHO they get will disappoint their fans in the end. The Twins will get one shot at the playoffs each decade. My Cardinals will give me hope to the end of the regular season. The Marlins will win the Series every few years only to dash the hope of a repeat by letting half their team leave. And Barry Bonds will act like an egotistical ass. (come on Giants fans, you KNOW its true)
As a Cardinal fan, its only a matter of a couple years till Albert Pujols is on the Yankees wish list. Depressing. The Yankees are one of the reasons that the fan base of baseball keeps dropping more and more each year. Bask in your feelings of superiority while you can, Yank fans....but willingly accept the blame for ruining the game when the other shoe falls.

As a die-hard Red Sox fan, the Yankees can get A-Rod if they want. It will be twice as sweet when we beat the crap out of them.
Wow how exciting now the Yankees are gonna be like the Lakers, a complete and total money team.
you cant compare the two. the lakers didnt go out and spent millions of dollars to get malone and payton they both wanted to play for the lakers for chump change. it was malones idea to come to la and he let gary payton know about it. the only players making big money on the lakers are kobe and shaq.

lakers are not even the top three highest payroll

I believe that bernie williams will be the dh and loften in center...the only ?'s for the yankees is starting pitching...yes mussina will be a solid workhorse for the entire season...kevin brown can be dominate, but will he last, he gets hurt very easily, and he will be pitching a lot more games in the cold playing in ny...contreas, don't know if he is a legitimate starter for a entire season, lieber, another great pitcher but coming off major surgery, and will he be effective, and if he is will he last the entire season..then you have vasquez...everyone says he is a great pitcher, but he was .500 pitcher on a .500 team..and they gave up nick johnson for him..maybe he will be great in ny, or maybe he will be a .500 pitcher, or maybe he won't be able to handle the pressure in ny...we shall see
hell yeah the Red Wings all the way!!!! course i cant say that, seeing as im a hardcore Ottawa Senators fan....
Hey want to trade a Senators jersey for some games. bought one years ago and havent worn it yet.

Salary cap? Hell yes. While we're at it make revenue sharing something that will actually make a difference for the small-market clubs.

Telling teams they have to compete with the 191 million dollar Yankee juggernaut is like telling a Ford Tempo it has to race a Ferrari Enzo.

(On the opposite side of the spectrum the Tampa Bay Devil Rays have a payroll of 19 million -- just a 172 million dollar difference.)

I'm more interested in how all these egos will cohere on and off the field. That should prove to be more exciting than a 20-0 rout of the Devil Rays.

I hope it's the Red Sox and the Cubs in World series, because the Yankees pitching is not as good as it was previously, plus they are an Evil Empire. The Tribune Company is just a greedy dumbass empire. And i hope that The Yankees don't just get Greg Maddux just because he's just out there.

My nose makes its own bubblegum-- Ralph Wiggum

I hope the yanks get maddux and about 10 more good players. Then, they can travel the country playing the Generals or something. It will be great. Then the rest of the league can just play the season without em.

pitching beats hitting every time so letting 3 of your starting pitchers leave will kill the yankee's.

Kevin Brown has done nothing since he got his ring in Florida except get hurt, Vasquez is not playoff tested and no where near the quality of any of the 3 pitchers that left.

the Yankees will learn the hard way that playing Texas Ranger's baseball means you win in the regular season and lose in the playoff's (see 1996, 1998, and 1999). the only way they have a shot at a ring this season is if the Diamondback's trade the big Unit to the yanks.

Also thank god A-rod is gone and now texas can finally begin the rebuilding process. They still have one of the best minor league systems, which means that they have some room to keep their roster strong while going after some good starting pitching next year. (BTW I lived 10 minutes from the Ballpark in Arlington and used to go to about 30 games a year before I moved to NC so I am a die hard Ranger fan)

Kevin Brown hurt? what about his year last year?

Brown was only 14-9 with one of the top defenses in the league(they may have been top, I knew they were at one point). Even though many of his losses can be attributed to a weak offense.

Brown is 39 and still may some left in the tank, but he does not have david Well's rubber arm or Roger Clemen's work ethic.

Also now it appears they have gotten Greg Maddux, who has fallen far in the past 5 years. We are talking about someone who can not perform in the postseason and was only seen as a 4th starter on most rosters.

i think the greg maddux deal is false. i think it started by his agent so maddux can get more than a 2year 15 mill contract that is offered by the cubs and dodgers. i think he did this so some dumb as owner can be like ohh shit lets offer maddux a 4 year 40 million dollar deal before the yankees get him. so i can expect team like the redsox to fall for it.

Did anyone see the SNL this past week with the real reason why the Yankees got A-Rod?

Jeter needed a boyfriend. ... Well I thought it was funny.

Im a hardcore met fan always have been always will be. Our day will come hopefully...

Oh yea i got this from tomorrow's NY times headline "Jesus Christ to wear pinstripes, possibly Selig"
