With the Halo 3 Beta chugging along at full steam on day two I decided to jump on to Bungie.net to see my stats. The website is updated and now currently shows off a few neat little stats about your recent and past games.

One fact I found particularly interesting were the recorded Halo 2 stats. I don't play it much anymore but it's crazy to see how much time I've put in:

You guys are the reason I was never got into this game. I got the game with my 360, and beat the story (loved it), then went online and sucked. After a week or two with a kill/death ration of about .1 I got sick of it and never went back. You guys will hate me but Personnally I want halo 3 to be more of stop and pop than a run and gun, the multiplayer just gets old.

I just got Halo 2 yesterday (sad I know lol), so basically I'm pretty bad at the game. Best place I got was 2nd in CTF and 3rd or 4th in 16 player team slayer out of the games I played. Anyway really fun game but I gotta learn the maps and gun locations better since all I've been able to find is SMG and battle rifles lol. Anyway my stats are probably something like:

  • Kill/Death Ratio: 0.70
  • Total Assists: 80
something bad like that xD. Jealous of those of you with a ~2.0 K/D ratio :p

I have a friend who has a brother that played miminum 5 hours every week day and 20 to 30 weekends. He once entered a tournament in which he won but the prize was less then entry. He payed to play. OH HE IS STILL PLAYING THE SAME AMOUNT.

Surprised me actually, I thought I had played more games than that. Though I did tend to take months off between getting the bug again and having to relearn how to play.

Anyone one else really loving the Beta? I LOVE the new weapons, maps and game changes. Especially the new team modes. VIP, land grab and even territories feel much more active now. Even assault feels more balanced. Only played one CTF but it seemed to involve much more combat than before with the flag placements. I just don't want this beta to end.

At first I was surprised that my K/D ratio was so low, but considering that I continuously stop playing for months before diving back in, I guess it isn't all that surprising after all.

I'm not in the Halo 3 beta, but it did encourage me to pick up Halo 2 again after a 6-7 month hiatus. I still have to ease my way back into it, but it seems like everybody in ranked games (and I can only play Double Team and Team Hardcore since I didn't buy the new maps) is some kind of god, now. Granted, part of this may be a lack of teamwork on my team's part, but holy shit. I either crush the competition or get my ass waxed, every single game, with no inbetween. It's almost depressing how far behind everybody I am now.

Stats were reset recently, meaning you are probably playing people that were a much higher level before.

Ok...not sure where else to post this, but i just got Halo 2 not too long ago and i have a 360. I'm trying to download that god-forsaken Blastacular map pack so i can actually play online...every time i try to purchase the map pack, the progress bar immediately fills up and then gives me a download failed error. I just bought 500 MS points on Xbox.com which means my CC info is on my account...right?

Edit: got it! You have to turn on your 360, go to marketplace, account management. From there, find your CC where it displays the last 4 digits, hit the X button to edit. And you should see an option to the right where you can enter your verification code for your CC. That was what my problem was, nto sure if it helps anyone else :)

I'm aware of the stat reset, and I'll say that to a degree that's the problem, but not totally. Level means little, outside of the amount of time put in; I've bested level 30s in training games while losing to a level 15 in the same round. I actually did some research late last night ("how to not suck at Halo 2" search on Google) and discovered a lot of exploitable glitches that can be done with the battle rifle that I didn't know about. Since I've been playing Team Hardcore, where most matches use the battle rifle as a starting weapon, it seems that double shooting RRx and RRx YY RRx combos have unfortunately become the norm. I was wondering how the "good" players were killing me in one on one battles in seemingly two shots, and that's why.
