Alright, is a GBA SP worth it? Have I been missing out?

CAGiversary!
I see all these games getting good reviews, and I love classic games as much as anybody, but $99...is it worth it? And if so, what games are must haves and where should I buy it from?

I play my gba more than any other system ever. Get the SP, it is well worth it.

If you do get it, all the castlevanias are good choices, as is Final Fantasy Tactics Advance.

I think it's worth it. I didn't really care for the regular gba, could never see the screen. Once I got the SP, I find myself playing it more and more. I'd go ahead and get one if I were you, bunch of great games for it.

Remember, you could always get the original GBA if cost is a huge issue, both systems play the same games. I would recomend the SP however if you have the money, since the built in lighting makes things a lot easier. As for games there are a ton, all the super mario advanced games, advance wars 1 and 2, warioware, the castlevanias, the metroids, fire emblem, sword of mana, Zelda, Harvest Moon and I'm sure I'm still leaving a bunch out.

The regular GBA was going for $30 used at GameStop recently, $40 new at Media Play. A light can be found used for $5, and rechargeable batteries and a charger can be gotten for $15.

$70 at most for a GBA, a light, and batteries. That $30 is a game...more, since we're all cheapasses. Beyond that, the SP is too cramped for long periods of play and not being able to swap out the battery freely is a real pain.

Just my opinion, mind you, and I've been shown time and time again that I'm the minority.

Prior to owning the SP, I played my GBA only sparringly, however, once it came out the SP has owned me. The three Castlevania games are worth owning the system for. If you have a Game Cube you can save somm $$ and pick up the Game Boy Player.

Considering that the DS will be like 200, it might be worth just getting an SP for 100 or so. I play mine all the time since the light was added. I never played my GBA because I couldn't see it. I would personally get an SP now and once all the hype dies down on the DS, you can trade it in for a DS and maybe the price will have dropped a little.
At this point wouldn't it be better to just wait for the DS, though?
due to the revolutions from the Japan gaming industries, you will eventually need to buy a DS unless u'ren't gonna play nintendo games anymore. but yes, SP is worth to buy and it always got some cute and classic games that you can't find on PS or XBOX for these years~

$99...hum...it depends on which color SP you want~ I got my pearl pink one from gbastore and it is shinny and pretty~
