Here's the scenario. I just got divorced a couple days ago, and last night I had a female friend of mine over to my house to bring me some things. First off this chick is pretty hot, smokin body, plus she actually has a very cool personality. While she was there she started talking about her boyfriend, and that she is getting fed up with him. He has no job, is extremely clingy, all in all he is like your typical woman.
Here's where I'm not sure if I'm a douche. Should I have tried to put to moves on this chick? I was just afraid that if she didn't feel the same way as me, then she would flip out and never see me again. On the flip side I am kicking myself for not even feeling it out a little better. And if I did mess up, how do I go about recovering from this so I'm not always just a friend?

The divorce was finalized a few days ago or you just moved out a few days ago?

She was probably just venting to you. If she really wanted to get it on, she probably would've made a pass at you.

Wow. Get married, get divorced, hit on your female friends, rinse, repeat?

I wouldn't say douche.

I thought it was going to be that you stuck your tool in her mouth and were feeling bad that not enough time had passed since the divorce, this story, this is just pussy bullshit.

I'll give you 10 to 1 that this chick will never swallow your kids. Ever.

I think you guys are being a touch harsh here,

He had the hot chick with a boyfriend over days after his divorce, and DIDN'T do anything. Honestly, assuming she wanted you, you did the right thing. If she didn't want you, you really did the right thing.

If she really wants you, you'll get other opportunities. So, even though I normally agree that if you have to ask, the answer is usually yes, I think the answer here is no.

I think the consensus here isn't that he's a douche for not doing anything, but he's a douche for considering it a possibility to the point of actually asking on a forum whether or not he should've done something.

A non-douche would know he did the right thing by not acting and stop contemplating it.

hey, the man is just asking for some feedback on the situation...just like he was asking his friends(maybe he considers you a friend)

I say you made the pretty noble choice to lay off this time. But hey, now if it happens again then it's a different story.
