I've hear people say the PS3 version is better, but really I have no clue how many people are comparing on the same equipment under the same settings.

I have it on 360 and it's great. The gameplay is more of a selling point to me than the graphics, though the graphics are pretty good too.

You can refuse shipment though and reorder it at the cheaper price though.

If you get a nice rep, yes. They stopped their price protection policy last year but sometimes if the item hasn't shipped you can get a "one-time exception". Others will still deny you. Some people keep trying until they get an answer they like better, some people just reorder and return to sender the original for a refund (although not suggested to do often, as Amazon has closed accounts for "abuse" of this) or some people will just take the first answer. World of possibilities for you.

Their policy says no. However, I've had success twice in past (once they even refunded me $90 when it was only supposed to be $27). Both times they said they would make a one time exception even though it wasn't their policy.

Lately it seems like most are getting turned down. You can send an email but will likely get turned down.

Your best bet is to rebuy it at $34.99 and just refuse delivery of the $39.99 one.
 
AC2 will be $40 or $30 before Christmas. Just like Prince of Persia & AC1. And that's not just at Amazon. I mean everywhere.

Refusing delivery over buyers remorse seems like a bad idea.

Maybe $40, but I doubt $30. It still might not hit $40 this year. It's selling better than either of those games.

I guess I got lucky. I had preordered Left 4 Dead 2 at the $54.99 price that included the $10 game credit. A week later the price dropped to $44 and I asked if they could price match it, especially considering my game hadn't even arrived yet. They sent an Email within the hour saying I had been refunded $10.99. So, I paid $44 for the game and got a $10 credit on top of that.
 
Where are you guys seeing AC1 for $10? It's coming up $18.65 for me.

Also too bad amazon never matched the $7 and $10 Walmart games all that much - I never saw Lock's Quest at $7, and GTA IV was $10 for a Gold Box special, that was it. Although the Walmart games weren't all that fantastic outside of a couple of bright spots...

AC1 was $10 for 360/PS3 at 5:30 AM PST on Friday (I think).

yep. that was it. because we got home by 8, and I struggled to stay awake until 8:30 (EST) to get it in my cart.
 
Amazon offered some nice prices on games, but I'm surprised that they didn't lower the price on those expensive ass controllers. They also really need to fix the promotional credit. That whole system is glitched
to hell.
 
Has anyone seen amazon drop borderlands (360) below the $44 price point. its $49 now but earlier in the week it was lower because they were price matching target. I really want this game and want to see a deal on it.

Not necessarily true, I live in north dakota. No distribution center or anything. Not to mention we must not have a law because places like Newegg or others don't charge me tax, only amazon. It sucks.

Yeah I used to live in ND and got taxed from Amazon. I'm glad I don't have to pay any tax here in Michigan.
By the way I'm sure there is an Amazon building in Grand Forks. Some of my friends worked there.

i kind of hate how so many retailers had all those enticing ps3 bundles on black friday. With more people with ps3(s), that meant they were getting blu rays! most of the stores i went to today (saturday) had most of their older (good) blurays out of stock :bomb: with new releases like star trek still abundant, at least the ones i went to within a 35 mile radius of my residence. double edged sword for making the bluray format more mainstream through the selling of ps3 units
 
Well my good friends, we had a good run, but I think the end of this "Black Friday" has come. Dry those tears, for in a short 364 days, we get to do it again!

I do believe we all hope for that but other then a scant few of the deals Amazon hath ignored our pleas, even if a lot of them are whiny.

indeed we did! And I can't thank all of you enough for making this past week so enjoyable to stay up so late for! I probably would have died of boredom without you guys!

And of course, we have to particularly thank jodou for being our Prophet for Black Friday 2009, revealing the deals and prices about 5 minutes or so before the lightning deals went live.. and he still blows our minds!

Why do so many people say CAGers, when CheapyD says CAGs every week on the podcast?
 
Amazon has deals going until the 30th, but there haven't been any good gaming deals in a while so I think people are giving up. At this point I'm just hoping for bargain-bin prices on older games instead of deals on newer releases.
