EDIT: I undertand that this is not a deal but I figured that other CAG'ers would be interested in this.

Glad I picked up Bourne Supremacy & Elizabeth for about $10 a piece at Tower. I don't get why Amazon has constant fluctuations in their HD DVD prices, but I know it's frequent going by how often I get notified prices of items saved or in my cart change. I doubt this price jump lasts too long.
Not sure why this was made a thread--unless gizmo is right and they are just prepping a BOGO.
It's interesting enough for a thread to be made, but it certainly shouldn't be in the "deals" section.

No joke, if a BOGO happened anytime soon, I'm fairly certain my head would explode from having so many movies.
I'd probably buy some stuff too. amazon will ship movies but not games to Canada. Go figure.
It's sad, isn't it...
Oh well, the second theres a BOGO, the party is on!

It's probably because they are selling the HD-DVDs like crazy at the new lower prices and figure hey maybe we can squeeze an extra buck or two out of these nuts!

If anything just stop buying for a couple days and then Amazon will drop them even more when they figure out people arent going to jump on anything.

I hope they're prepping for a BOGO but the last one they had on HD DVDs was AWFUL. Not to mention this is the 2nd fairly large scale price increase they've done since Toshiba pulled the plug, I'm a bit confused.

Even if they do a BOGO, titles are still going to be in most cases $10 or more each. Not sure if I'm willing to pick up 40 or 50 HD DVDs at that price yet.

I think Amazon's system automatically detects when things are selling well and adjusts the price to make more money. Of course the system doesn't know anything what the item is, and that this is in fact a prolonged clearance sale. I suspect the prices will be reduced again soon.

All the movies I have saved went back to their normal prices, must've just been a temporary glitch or something.

Yeah something must've went wrong with the system last night or something. I found it strange that all the HD were going back up as well and figured that even if they were selling well then they wouldn't increase the prices.

I mean they're trying to clear them out so if they're selling you wouldn't want to raise them so they'd quit selling would you? Still waiting for a bunch of them to hit 9.95 because I've already gotten the few that have.

Well now a few went back up, yet the thing is everything in my cart is 13.95. Could this be a good sign of a B1G1 sale if so my wife is going to kill me.

I've already picked up a bunch of HD-DVD movies from Amazon since getting the 360 add-on. The Bourne Trilogy, Mallrats, Payback, The Big Lebowski, and Clerks 2. If they have a BOGO and the prices are low, I'll probably be broke by the time I'm done ordering.
