Amazon DotD: Heavenly Sword for PS3 $39.99
First to say "I'd buy this if it were 29."
I second this thought.

Gah, if only it was 29.99... I dont even have much interest in it, it is just the last major PS3 exclusive i do not own, and i want it so i can calm my OCD down lol. Someone trade me their heavenly sword for my Warhawk, darnit!

I just picked up a PS3 last night. I need to buy a game sometime, but this is not that time yet. I will wait for it to fall more per recommendations.

I was interested at first. Then I started reading people's replies and realized I don't feel like spending $40 either. I had said when the game came out I'd wait until it was $20-30.

As others have mentioned it's only a 5 or 6 hour game max. That's why I would only pay $20 max for it. It's a fun button masher ala Dynasty Warriors. Visually the game shines but you see right thru that and the cut scenes.
$19.99 or bust for me
Indeed, The game was too short in my opinion to purchase at $20 or more.

Worth $20 for the cutscene work ALONE--whole game is easily worth $40, especially with FREE SHIPPING and NO SALES TAX.

I guess this is a good deal for the God of War crowd, but I (Flame Suit On!) just could not force myself to like the GoW games. As much as I tried, as many reviewers and gamers that decreed the game to be a gift from Jesus to stand aside the Madden series atop Olympus, I just absolutely could not force myself to like it.

So maybe I'll try this when it's in a 2pack with Lair for $30 lol

I jumped at $45 during one of Amazon's Lightning deals, and I was satisfied with that price. Its a great game, and a short game isnt a drawback for me in price. I dont always want a long game, considering I don't always have time for such. Definitely a great deal at $40
I bought this for $60 and have not regretted it...Was actually playing this last night for an hour or so...
Sounds like you beat it too. Wacka Wacka

I actually really liked the demo other than how short it was and could see it being an awesome game, just very short. I couldn't justify $60 for such a short game and wanted to rent. I'm tempted for $39.99 with free shipping and no tax, but I definitely would get it if it were $10-20 cheaper.

hmm....

Uncharted. It was the first game I played on my PS3 and one of the only videogames I've ever completed twice.
i wanted this game bad..... until i played the demo, ill hold off a little longer i guess
Yeah, that kinda killed it for me, too...can anyone comment on how indicative the demo is of the rest of the gameplay?

is that true that the demo is half of the game? :p

I really liked the demo, and I like that it's a short game, I don't time for 20+ hrs games. So I know that I'll enjoy the game whenever I get it. The question is, should I pay 40?

I picked it up. I don't have much time on my hands and will take my time with this. I had rented it before, but only had time to get an hour in in about 5 days worth.

Possibly worth buying at $30 but even thats a stretch for me. $20 is where I'd probably pick it up.

I just don't dig games that can be beat in one afternoon and that have no replay value.

I guess that's why they say different strokes for different folks. I wanted this game before and especially after playing the demo. Will purchase it and would do if for $40 but since I have 5 other unopened games waiting to be played for the 360 I'll hold off for now!

i was expecting a god of war type game, and i found it amazing there wasnt even a jump button if i recall

40 doesn't seem terrible but I guess Ill wait and just keep getting through my backlog. Resistance hasn't dropped so can this realisticalyy drop to 20? I'd say 30 at best as a greatest hit.

Yeah, I agree, it was kind of odd that there wasn't a jump button. I thought I was missing something and had to look at the control scheme to make sure. Same kinda thing with Gears of War, no jump button, but it suited the gameplay! Still odd though not to be able to jump in games. I just like this type of gameplay and don't mind that the game is short because my gameplay time is somewhat limited and I may spend 2 weeks playing a game till I beat it, I guess that is why I have 5 unopened games!

This is still going new for $60 at gamestop. Anyone know the trade in value maybe I will trade in with a reserve deal hopefully it will be near $40 value

I don't really wanna buy the game, but I will post in this topic saying that it should be cheaper, because I am cool like that.

I picked this up in one of the tru b2g1 deals, expecting to play it in a weekend and then trade it in while the value was still high. But once I finished it I found that I didn't want to trade it. I almost never replay games, but I can really see myself replaying this one - its short length is actually sort of a plus in that regard. The gameplay is fun - its just a tiny step down in quality from God of War, which means its only excellent instead of incredible (though the Kai shooting levels take a bit of getting used to, they get much better later in the game when you're sniping people from a longer distance.) The cut scene work and story are surprisingly engaging and effecting - Narito is a great, really strong character. I was also underwhelmed by the demo, but I'm really glad I picked it up anyway - I was really surprised by how much I enjoyed this game.

BUT - if you're the kind of gamer who skips cutscenes and plows through dialogue to get back to the action, this may not be the game for you - the great storytelling is as important as the gameplay. The length of the game is really what's necessary to tell the story - in my view easily worth the $40. I wouldn't have regretted paying full price honestly (glad I didn't tho!).

Only game I've paid full price for in the last year.

Was just about to buy, but Gamefly has it for $35 (+tax)... although $39 new no tax from amazon is tempting, I've already played 1 hours worth so I just can't do it.

Why don't you just plunk down $40? Wouldn't that guarantee you have a full $40 towards a reserved game?
Anyone know the trade in value of this at gamestop?
No, but I'd guess $20. However, its still $55 used so who knows. Call GS and ask them maybe?
