Amazon DOTD -- Valhalla Knights: Eldar Saga Xseed (Wii) - $25.98

From what I played on PSP, their is so much potential for this game series.....but it hits hard in some of the core places. I wanted to get this for my Wii, but honestly what game developers take their time developing for the Wii beyond Nintendo itself? so if reviews are led to believe, I am going to pass.

I think there is going to be a price drop soon... seems like GS used prices are close to this.

I think I'll see if I can get it there, cheaper after edge but I do have to pay tax.... ah..

if ECA was still around, I wouldn't be thinking about this.... darnit.

Yeah, definitely. Another lost sale for Amazon from me because of no ECA codes. And yes, that 10% off makes a hell of a difference for me.

Yeah, speaking of reviews... here's the metacritic page. 10 reviews, 33 out of 100. Ouch. :whistle2:#

Description sounded cool, action rpg with online co op and 5 classes. But wow, those are some bad reviews.
this got killed in reviews, anyone have direct experience playing it?
Yes I have played it.

The graphics are terrible. Things in the distance look kinda cool but in a whole they remind me of early PS2. Colors are pretty much Grey and brown. No voice, only text.

Worst are the Wii controls. There is not really any motion controls. I just could not handle the camera right with it. The game feels more usable with the classic controller. (Cannot invert axis..grrr) GC controller not supported.

I have only put about 8 hours into the game. Feels mostly like a fetch/Kill quest game very similar to Monster Hunter but boring.

The game is broken into two stories. (Like a game then it's sequel) In the first story you can side with a race and marry them and then when you finish the first story your offspring takes up the second story. If you just start the second story this is predetermined for you. Plus you only get one default save slot.

I have not gotten that far to see how that works, not sure if I will.

Bold part for emphasis. Targeting in the game can be really frustrating especially when trying to heal your NPC. I do not recommend this game at all. It seems more like a beta than a final build for a game.
