Didn't see a thread on here for this, so I thought I'd post it. If you haven't already pre-ordered Dumbo and/or the Lion King, Amazon is currently offering an $8 discount when ordering both titles. (Discount is actually Lion King + 1 other title, but Dumbo is eligible amongst some other titles.)

Potential Additional Savings:
If you had pre-ordered Dumbo earlier this year from Amazon for $16.99, it is possible to make a second order with the new promotion, and then get them to alter the price of Dumbo in the new order to match the pre-order promotion, giving you both movies for a total of $33.98. (Make sure you don't cancel your old Dumbo order first so they can reference it. They'll likely cancel it in the process of combining the orders.)

I think this deal has been going on for awhile. There's probably a thread that's months old.

I know i've had an order for Lion King + Beauty and the Beast for quite some time. There were a number of titles to choose from to get the $8 off on combined purchase, not just Dumbo. It seems to be Lion King that's driving the deal, not Dumbo. Dumbo is just one of the movies you can pair with Lion King but any cominbation you do has to at least include Lion King.

I just did this, but the Chat CSR added an additional $8.00 credit to my existing Dumbo pre-order after seeing Lion King in my cart. This works even better for me as I show the $24.99 price for Lion King which will most likely drop to price match a lower price as we get closer to release.

caved and got Beauty + Lion king blu's in 3d, i'll probably never watch the 3d version though.

tv came with glasses, tossed them back in the box without ever even opening them.

What brand TV do you have? I may be interested in buying the glasses from you. ;)

I, personally, am very excited to see exactly what Disney could have done with the 2D movies to make them work for 3D... I'm not expecting much, but I did sell off my 2D BatB combo pack to make sure I could afford the upgrade to the 3D set.

I'm infintely more excited for the Toy Story movies in 3D, though. The first two had a good, natural amount of depth in 3D and the third was one of the more well done 3D animated movies I've seen.
When you guys combine the orders do the previous $8 coupons go along with it?
When I did this via a chat the CSR just added an additional $8.00 credit to the Dumbo pre-order (new total $8.99) and then I ordered Lion King for $24.99. The nice thing about this is that Lion King will likely drop in price before its release so I stand a good chance of getting it even cheaper. The CSR I chatted with said he could not find the specifics for the Dumbo discount which is why he gave me the additional $8.00.

I was pleased to get the discount as the Lion King $8.00 has the following in it's terms:

This promotion may not be combined with other offers, including promotional certificates.

Because of this I was surprised that they were willing to stack the discounts, but I'll take it. ;)

I must have missed out on the original coupons. I ordered BATB and LK (both 3D) back in April but they look to be the regular price. I ordered Dumbo at the beginning of June. Same thing. :(

Also, I wish the LK Trilogy was offered in non SE. I have not seen the second or third LK, but would like to have them. But I doubt they're worth $45 more than the LK3D package...

Which to combine? the single movie with Dumbo or the Trilogy???

I tried for about 10 minutes, and the guy I talked to had no clue about the promotion. When he finally saw it, he would only say "you were supposed to order them together."

I have never seen LK 2, but I found LK 1 1/2 pretty fun. It pretty much follows Timon and Pumba through some of the LK 1 activities and is done a lot more tongue in cheek. If you like Timon and Pumba than you will probably like LK 1 1/2.

Hope this helps

Thanks for the help. It does sound good. I wonder if they'll eventually sell them separately. Surely they could be had for less than the $45 extra you pay for the SE set.

I agree that $45 extra is a lot for two direct to video movies. I have a tough time spending over $20 for most Blu Rays in general so this is a hard sell for me. I have LK 1 on order with Amazon and will keep my eyes peeled for the SE set to drop a bit before the release. If the SE set was $20-$25 more I would likely be interested, but for such a big jump it is tough for me to justify it.

strange that you can get the $8 off by combining Lion King ONE with Beauty, but it doesn't work if you combine the Lion King BOX set with Beauty.
Thanks, although I'm still confused on why they gave you another 4 bucks off. The price still shows 24.99. But reading this .... *NOTE* According to blu-ray.com or a few minutes Amazon's Dumbo dropped down to $21.99 making my total $9.99. That would mean they will adjust this after it ships, I assume.
I dooon't quite understand what you wrote there, but I just wanted to chime in to say that when I initially ordered Dumbo, it was $21.99 with $8 off, so mine is currently sitting at $13.99

Yes, I do this often. They issue you a refund of the difference to the card you used. Usually within 2 days after the release date.

Has anyone had luck getting amazon to add on the $5 dmr coup for lion king? Would be sweet to take off another $5 to the total
Has anyone had luck getting amazon to add on the $5 dmr coup for lion king? Would be sweet to take off another $5 to the total
Amazon is extremely hard to convince to "double dip" promotions, so you'd either have to get a stupid or uncaring rep to try and do it.

Since you'll be mentioning it's a B&M coupon, expect them to tell you to get lost.

I'm pretty pissed. I applied a gift card to my order of the lion king trilogy and that changed the ship date to October 6th. Before I applied the gift card it said it would be delivered on Oct 4th (I preordered it months ago). The customer service rep lied and told me otherwise. I guess I'll wait an extra week (hopefully it's not any longer than that). I'm upset about this.

Just got my Lion King from Amazon today and I've got a question. Is anybody elses hologram thing on the slipcover crooked? This is how mine looks, and I'm not sure how much it angers me, lol.

I thought maybe it would just be held on by that rubbery putty stuff, and I could peel it off and recenter it myself, but it appears to be legitimately glued. Maybe it's a dumb thing to be annoyed by, but it's a $30 3D blu ray. It shouldn't look cheap.
