Isn't there going to be a "Super" Marvel vs Capcom 3 soon or something?
Shit. I was waiting on a ~$20 price for this game but didn't even think about that. I doubt Capcom will go that way because there has never been a "Super" version in the MvC series...yet
Super is all but confirmed.
What are they adding to the super edition? New characters altogether or just new costumes and such?

If a Super MvC is released which would be a first in the franchise I would assume it would follow the SSF4 route and release a year after the original. So Feb 2012, if you want to wait that long go ahead. But I am glad I bought this day one, one of the best party games in my library.

No one knows what's included. Heck, no one knows if one is really coming. But there have been clues to its existence. Tweets from a reliable source, no menion of any additional DLC charaters since Jill and Shuma, and Capcom's history releaseing Super, Gold, and Remastered versions all point to a better version coming sooner than later.

Wow PS3 owners have to pay extra blu-ray cost, and now on fighting games we have to pay extra for a better control scheme.

The fact that I've been expecting a super version before mvc 3 came out is the reason I haven't gotten this yet. Just think about this for a second. Doesn't the game seem incomplete to you ? No spectator mode or not really many modes period and no new announcements for new characters besides the first two. They are saving all the good stuff for the inevitable super version and I think capcom will do the street fighter 4 treatment for all their fighting games for now on. They have made a lot of money on street fighter 4 because of this and they will do it again. I'm Sure they are saving characters like megaman, captain commando, cyclops, strider and others for it so they will give us a reason to buy it.

A reliable source (lupinko) says yes, the same guy who leaked the entire roster of MvC3 and a shitload of other stuff.

I'd DEFINITELY WAIT till AFTER E3 and/or Capcom's conference before purchasing that way you'll have a better idea when the "super" edition will come out. Probably this fall that way they get close to a full year of the reg. edition sales plus DLC then scoop the holiday sales boost with a more complete game.

Nah, the control scheme is terrible if youre not using a stick, what youre paying for is all that extra lag that comes with PSN

I really dont understand why the PS3 version costs more, its clearly the inferior version of the game if you plan to play online

Oh and there is no "Super" marvel game, added characters have already been said to be DLC, and balance tweeks will be made on the fly like they have been already (see sentinel nerf)

But mvc3 just came out this febuary. No way they would release this the same year the vanilla edition came out. I predict febuary next year. Till then they will probibly discount the current version.

Button layout is fine for pads. Fightsticks are above and beyond obviously, but not entirely a necessity for this game.

The netcode is a dirty ass. Can't fault either PSN or XBL for that. At least it's not as bad as MK's.

Man sentinel was sooooooooo broken. All you had to do was use his mouth beams. They will hit you from basicly anywhere and he could take a lot of damage. Ive seen little kids abuse sentinel this way and I was just shaking my head in disgust.

Sentinel is exactly the same. The HP nerf was pretty stupid. I don't use him at all, but the high health wasn't what made him annoying, it's the piss easy BnBs that net you 50-60% damage not including x-factor. People can complain about the sentinel drone assists all they want, but it's one of the more easily punishable assists in the game.

Yea sentinel isnt a problem at all to me, moreso then anything because maybe 1% of the people who use him actually "KNOW" how to use him.

When it came out fighters sold tons this game isn't gonna move units like it could've back then. So the new trend is the re-release which works well for fighters b/c they can add more fighters on the back end & with the roster of characters at their disposal if they were to add enough it would make the game "new" again. Well worth the $40-$50 price tag they may throw on it, this along with the regular price drop cycle & GH will propel sales.

that definitely indicates they will release a "Super" edition have you seen something stating it won't happen?

Plus, next yrs 1st qtr gaming lineup may not work competitively for them either. I believe a company can make a game a PS3 GH in < a yr if they wanted to with the right sales # so why couldn't they wait 10-11 months. My thinking is they would love to have this avail for the holiday season to get that boost in sales. If the "super" editiion was offered for $25-$30 on BF it would sellout everywhere

I'll pass on this. Extremely limited modes (Arcade, Versus, Training, Online), toned down roster, pathetic number of stages, no online spectator mode, and ridiculously priced DLC ($5 per character? $1 for CPU fights??). I'll keep borrowing it, Crapcom isn't getting my money for half a game.

hmm still a little too high for me, going to wait for $20 or less ... wasnt SSIV going for like $16 new on amazon a few months ago? i think it will be the same with MVC3

Probably won't buy. Gonna wait for Super Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 Arcade Edition. I already fell for Capcom's scam with Street Fighter IV Collector's Edition, not gonna make that mistake twice.

people are still complaining about sentinel? seriously? like the other person said, only the 1% that know how to use sentinel are a problem, so if you are losing to spammers it just means you need more practice.

I'm glad people are becoming wary of Capcom. I think it's utterly pathetic that they just reissue the same game year after year seemingly with minor upgrades and a few new characters. That's a major reason i refuse to buy their fighting games unless it's a solid price (< 20)
