Amazon: PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale $30 FSSS

This is actually a really good game. I'm sad that it didn't sell that well which means the chances of a sequel is slim. For those on the edge but can't get past comparing it to Smash, just think of it as Mortal Kombat and Smash as Street Fighter. Both games are similar but different enough that they could co-exist.

It trades in for $22.10. So I bought it. Going to take the free Vita version and then trade it in. Adding the extra $20 for trading it in, it will come out to $42.10. Pretty sweet deal.
I'm sure the trade value won't hold for too long at this price.
Thank a lot OP! Been waiting for a price drop for a long time on this game.

I have a question. Is the vita version sharing the same online pass with the ps3 version?

I have a friend who rented it from gamefly and it had no ps3 online pass but he was able to redeem the vita code and play online. So it must be separate.

Damn, thought this was the new MSRP. Hence why I traded my game in two days ago. The game includes a online pass (no manual, manual is included digitally in the game.)

As for the Vita version, in order to redeem it you have to pop the disc in, and the disc should load three options. The digital manual, the Vita redemption, and the game. Vita version includes it's own separate online pass, so when you download the Vita game itself it should come bundled with the additional Vita online pass that is required to play online.

I'm surprised that it hasn't been on sale for $10 yet.

This is a really fun game. I'm not a big fighting game fan, but the characters give this game a lot of variety and hold my interest. It is especially fun to play local multi-player. $30 is a decent price - especially since you are also getting the Vita version, however it does seem like it shouldn't be too long before $20 will be a common price.

Brilliant! Getting paid $10 to take the Vita version is awesome. Just locked in a trade for it and bought a copy. I'll have to try to rip through the PS3 version as fast as I can and see if I can plat it before I have to send it in.

Do you get the $20 bonus for every $20+ game traded in? That is, can I buy and trade in a second copy for an extra $10 worth of cred or is it a limit of one $20 bonus per item traded?

I'm not sure that's correct. I don't think Supers are required for kills, but it is harder to get a kill without using them. Supers do make for fun gameplay. Deciding when and how to use them is a nice element that adds some light strategery while still keeping it fairly casual. You don't have to memorize button combos, etc. Just press R2 to deploy the super. I'm sure that simplicity makes fighting fans cringe, but this game probably wasn't built with them in mind.

They clearly didn't learn from their sale on Sly 4 yesterday. I'm doing the same thing with that game. Also, more than likely these comments will be deleted, our whole convo in the Sly thread was.

Also, this game (PSASBR) is pretty awesome. The more I play it, the more it grows on me!

This game is enjoyable :) Not up to Smash Bros (in my opinion) but definitely fun with friends. The KO system is different, but it's not terrible. Kat is my favorite character, but I like Fat Princess too :D I would say it's worth it at $30, especially if you have a vita as well.

I had no idea they had the Promo for the extra $20 going on. Decided to do the same thing. Thanks OP and Lubu.

There was a Sly 4 sale? I don't recall seeing that thread. I probably would have jumped on it if I could have flipped it and gotten the Vita version for free. What was it's price/trade-in value?

It was around $21.820ish.

Yeah, game was (and still is) $29.99 and traded in for $21.xx (I think it trades in for $15.xx now, so if you have something else to trade in for $5 or so you can still turn it into a decent deal). Tack on the $20 bonus credit and it also became a hell of a deal.

Here's the thread, but like I said, it has been gutted by a mod.

Tempting... We'll see how much they throw it up for on the PSN sale next week since I have $20 credit sitting on there.

There's still the 20 dollar bonus on trade-ins at Amazon so if you don't like it you could trade it in for 42 bucks, right?

Honestly, I hated the demo but enjoyed the game itself. The demo doesn't give you access to some of the more fun characters to play as or levels/environments.

Damn, with the CAG & the SD effect. The trade-in for this dropped to $9.85.

It was a steady $22.xx for the last two days since I did my trade-in.

Bought this at launch and I play it split screen on the PS3 and on the Vita for quick on the go fun. I love the game and I especially love Kat/Emmet (got them for free at first 2 weeks) and Zeus/Isaac (got from free from GOW:A). I'm excited to see if they release more characters, but to any one on the fence you're missing out on a great game for when you have friends over or just like competitive online. As for those complaining about supers, it really does add a level of intensity when you have 1 life left or 30 seconds on the clock and you and your enemies are all racing to get a super in.

Isn't this the new MSRP? Retailers have had this price for several months ago. In fact, my brother picked it up due to the price drop.

I do agree with others. It's very unbalanced and the new to charge up your power bar to KO others doesn't make it as fun for casual play. I honestly don't think the game is that great.

The Vita version comes downloaded with an online pass key too. So it does have its own pass.

Thank you, man.

If you're PS Plus the download version will (presumably) be $19.99 on sale for Spring Fever next week. It's currently $39.99 and all the featured games have been 50% off so far.
