Has anyone trade in the Red Wii's bundled game New Super Mario Bros. game for the Amazon Trade in Program and get credit for it? It came in this paper case, the same one that came with Wii sports and with a separate manual. Is there a chance I would get rejected? this is first game I clicked on the list for this trade in:

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Dvideogames-tradein&field-keywords=New+Super+Mario+Bros.+Wii&x=17&y=24

I haven't open it yet and no intention of doing so, unless there's a hidden nintendo's club code in there. I'm hoping it would go through so I can get credited along with 20 others I wanted to unload.

It'll most likely get rejected. I don't have that bundle myself, but from past experience, I know it usually says "Not for individual sale." on the back of the bundled game. Amazon usually won't accept anything that doesn't have its own barcode on the back. You could try trading it in at Gamestop, because they'll take bundled games.

*sigh* I guess I should seen it coming, didn't even notice the Not for Resale line at the back of the box. Guess this is off to Gamestop then, the 50% extra TIV might be the only deal I can get out of this trade in. I was hoping I don't have to go the GS route, but I guess as long as I don't get charge a fee for not having the case, then it's all good.

Thanks guys for the response
Alternatively, you could try printing a cover from thecoverproject.net, slapping it in a case and sending it in?
The retail version of NSMBWii comes in a red case and I think that's the only way to get a red Wii jewel case. If you tried to trade it in with a white case I would expect it to get rejected. I guess you could try to buy a red case with cover art and insert material from somebody who has the retail version for a couple bucks if they are willing to part with it.

I'm sure the people at Nor Am have seen people trying to get away with printed out covers and know to look for that. I would say that depends on how lazy the inspector is if you print it out on regular paper or how willing you are to print out a high quality glossy one. But if it isn't in a red case I doubt it would work.

Step 1. Buy a complete copy of NSMB from GS.
Step 2. Return the game, disk only, and keep the case and manual.
Step 3. Sell the game + manual + case to Amazon.

Gamestop lets you do this?

When GameStop sells you a used game, they do not identify whether it is complete or not. Thus, if you buy a used game that is complete, you can return it within the 7-day window in disk only form can keep the case/manual... though I would suggest returning it in a case of some sort.
