I liked this a lot. If you don't know anything about soccer this may be a good game for you to play with some friends. its pretty arcadey.
 
I don't want to assume, but since it has the UEFA license, this does have all teams and leagues? Or are there some weird exceptions? I liked FIFA 07...any improvements from that or is it the same engine?
 
To me, it plays different then FIFA 07 but other people say otherwise.

I love it, its worth every penny. I got it at 60 bucks, and I was damn happy wirh my purchase. 10 bucks? Dont even debate it, just get it.

Not to mention the game looks absolutely fucking gorgeous on an HDTV set.

Its a points system, where you buy card packs with the points and theres bronze, silver, gold packs. You can only have a certain # of cards for each category and you simply build up a deck to play with. Other cards train your players, heal them when their injured...etc...


The soundtrack is amazing, too.
 
If you don't have it already, it's an absolute steal at a tenner. As far as exclusions from FIFA 07, you're missing the lower tier and non-euro teams, but you have Arsenal, so that's all that really matters ;)

tempting, but between the PC versions of PES 2008 and Football Manager 2008, which i play a lot, i doubt i'd really ever spend time on it.

I just can't bring myself to get it. I'm a WES man. But... at that price??? Also WES 2008 is coming out very soon. Hrm... tough call.
 
For those of you who picked this up, add me to your friends list if you'd to play sometime. I still haven't opened mine, but have played it at my bro's house.

I've heard that the career mode is pretty neat, because you may lose players at the end of the season, if you don't get the packs of cards to re-sign players. Plus, you can up your team's stats with cards that you pull from the packs that you "buy" in the game (what shnizzle66 said).

Maybe we could start a CAG league, if enough people are interested?

ok i want a soccer game and this is a deal. im not keen on the "cards" and "points" thing. so my next and deciding question is this - do you actually play the games or is all simulated with you as the coach pulling "cards". do you actually control the players during the game?

You play the actual games. If it's anything like some of hockey games out there, I believe you may be able to "simulate" the games, too, if you don't feel like playing a whole season.

Anyone else know for sure about the simulation option?

I heard that you can "trade" cards with other people over Live, too, but I'm not 100% sure.
 
great game for $10! I got it for $30 and still loved it! ;) It only has the Euro teams tho... no national & other leagues just a heads up
