American Media Refusal to Show Danish Cartoons of Mohammed

PittsburghAfterDark

CAGiversary!
What do you think the real reason the American media will broadcast news about the riots generated by the Danish cartoons but refuse to show the cartoons themselves?

Because they really aren't very funny? Most Americans would look at them for 5 seconds and forget about them while a very small percent of the population would start up protests and boycotts.

I've gotten a bunch of e-mails, recently, about holding protests for these comics. So, I seriously doubt that people will just forget about them.

Forget? Most Americans don't care in the first place, these comics aren't exceptionally funny or offensive to the vast majority of the population. Really all you're going to see is protests from fringe groups who are going to be angry regardless of US publication.

I don't think they'd show a Jesus dildo out of respect for Christianity, likewise with not showing a picture of Mohammad out of respect for Islam.

Newspapers have recently printed stories that have gotten their reporters thrown in jail and have sent their top reporters/correspondents over to the dangerous Iraq war front, so I don't think it's a case of being weenies.
