Does anyone else have a copy of the Animaniacs DVD that looks like a bad transfer? My copy is really poor. I returned it already and got another that looks the same. It is almost unwatchable.

well it could be the source transfer as I heard its not that great.

I've only watched the first DVD insofar and I haven't had any major quality issues with the transfer. Then again, I was viewing it in the way that it is a show that's around 13 years old or so, so maybe I'm a bit more forgiving if there are any transfer problems.

Most likely if the discs are not damaged in anyway then that is the way it suppose to be. If you are not experiencing disc errors or skips, this is what they are suppose to be like.

It's poorly-cared-for, hand-drawn, hand-colored animation for cable TV that is, like he said, THIRTEEN YEARS OLD. What do you expect dude?

Seriously though, it's totally watchable. However, it looks noticeably worse than anything more recent, like Futurama which is digitally-colored and transferred to DVD from a digital source, or most anime, which has a supremely higher budget for better animation.

And yes, I own it and know what you're talking about. It looks poor, it won't look any better, ever.

i dno...i got ninja turtles, the old 80's one on dvd, and it was cheap, im talking like less than $10 and the quality, sound and picture is very good...animaniacs could have just been rushed with no attention to detail
:( sorry OP

Ahahahaa, funny. If only anime really *did* have budgets comparable to American animation...

Honestly? I expect better. If I could pull out an old VHS tape that was taken from the old TV and have it look better then something wasn't done right. It is a big letdown because this is one of the shows I've been wanting for some time. I was given animation genius, but crushed by lousy quality.
