51 percent of Americans said they would definitely vote against Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-New York) if she decides to run for president. Only 16 percent of Americans pledged to definitely support a Clinton presidential run, while another 32 percent said they would consider it.

The hilarious thing is that Mr. "affirm the consequent" PAD will take anything CNN says as some sort of distrustful scandalous liberal propaganda, as if Jane Fonda herself approves of every story word-for-word before it goes on the air.

But when they proclaim news contrary to what the left might want to hear? They're a vital and reliable resource.

And the bastard can't even source CNN for it. He reads "Drudge Report" and "Newsbusters" to get his unbiased reporting. fucking hell already.
 
Doesn't surprise me one bit, she didn't hestitate to shift to appear more moderate, alienating much of her original fan base in the futile attempt to reach out to people who won't vote for her anyway.
 
now a better poll would be if they would elect William J Clinton over George "Walker Texas Ranger" Bush, screw the 22nd ammendment. There is no real point of it.

What part of CNN and Gallup didn't post this on their websites didn't you understand? There was nothing that came up on this poll on either site. CNN didn't have it on search results or on the politics page and Gallup didn't have it searchable either.

I can't source either organization if neither one of them are willing to post the results of the poll they conducted. Trust me, I would have loved to put this as a CNN sourced poll.

Makes it just that more delicous.

Despite 13 years of puff piece reporting on the bitch and countless image makeovers and softening of the iron lady of Little Rock all of CNN's and the MSM's efforts have completely failed to make her electable on a national stage.
 
Yes, PAD. Because all the discussion of her "plantation" remark was just a fluff piece to get people to love her via her inability to frame remarks in a tactful way.

Can someone explain to me just why conservatives hate Hillary so? Is it because she dared to work on policy while First Lady rather than literacy or Just Say No campaigns? Is it because she didn't clean Bill's clock when the Lewinski matter came out? Is it because, like so many politicians' wives of every stripe, she chose to look the other way in regards to her husband's indecretions?

I can see why people may not like her. She doesn't seem like the friendliest or most charismatic person. But I don't get the virulent hatred. These are the same people who complained about the Anybody But Bush mentality in the 2004 campaign.

It all comes off as rather misogynist. The first First Lady who didn't stick to baking cookies and she get crucified.
 
First and foremost her voice is like fingernails on a chalkboard. She's the walking reminder to every divoriced man of the nightmare ex wife and her personality is the greatest fear of any man when looking at professional woman he's involved with or married to.

She's an unsympathetic, unlikable woman, period. She has no leadership abilities beyond the fringe, she's a socialist, power grabbing, big spending, government knows best jackass.

Speak for your insecure self. Smart, successful, driven women don't bother me (I'm married to one). I just think she is just too thin for your tastes...

But there are actually a fair number of liberals (myself included) who oppose Hillary on the basis of political dynasticism. This poll be damned (it's still early) We could have 4 years of Bush Sr./ 8 yrs of Bill Clinton/ 8 years of George Bush Jr./ Some years of Hillary Clinton/ Some years of Jeb Bush.

That wouldn't be good for anyone.

I think we are see the ill effects of this in this administration by the utter lack of new ideas.
 
Whatever happened to Jeb Bush? I thought he was going to be groomed to ride his brother's coattails in the White House but so far, no one has mentioned him as a serious candidate in 2008.

It's becuase every word from her lips is delivered with translucent insincerity and unearned arrogance. At least her husband gave the furrowed brow and passive point and faked his insincerity as well as a Shatner screen test. Every sentence she spouts is flat and uninspired. And she knows it and tries to make up for it by annunciation and a higher volume. Unfortunately, it just amplifies the disingenuousness.

I'd say your description fits Dubya to a tee. Insincere and arrogant? Absolutely. And he's the worst public speaker.

I'm not doubting your reasons for disliking her but I still haven't found anything that clearly separates her from every other politician that would explain why she gets singled out for such venomous hatred.

Take away her shrill speaking voice and her gender, and that description is the Better Homes and Gardens standard recipe for any American elected to office.

Hell, leave in the speaking voice and you can have your pick of Joe Lieberman, Barney Frank, and plenty others I can't currently think of. Bush doesn't have the voice, but if we're going to play the petty game, then I must concede that his laugh is a bit too "Beavis and Butthead" for my liking. Much as I want to pretend I'm above that kind of pettiness, clearly I'm not.
 
Has this poll shown up anywhere besides a right-wing site? The latest poll I could find on CNN was from last May and had a 39% "unlikely to vote for Hillary". It's hard to believe that public opinion could shift that radically from 39% "unlikely" to 51% "definitely not" in 8 months when she hasn't really done anything.

Well, I just saw Russert quote it on meet the press so I can conservatively say that this is indeed a legitimate Gallop poll, to the disgust of EZB who doesn't believe anything from the Drudge Report.
