He did a stupid thing and is going to have to live with it, but it's none of our business, he doesn't even represent most of us. He did screw up by trying to lie about how it happened, but hey, who here would want to openly admit something like this?
 
I think Senator Weiner ought to pull out, pack it in and perhaps come to fight another day when he's cleared his name and can stand erect with chin held high in pride.

I don't think it's like him to shrink from the spotlight. Rather I think he prefers to stand up firmly to the accusations.

Sidenote, apparently police visited the underage girl who Weiner exchanged tweets with. I don't know if anyone knows if those tweets were inappropriate or not.
 
Underage girl? Man this keeps getting stranger with every day. I honestly never expected this out of the guy, he just didn't seem like the type to do something this stupid.
 
I've always liked Weiner and fully had his back until today when I read that he was taking a leave of absence to "seek treatment", which is easily my biggest sex scandal pet peeve. Treatment for what? Being a horny middle aged guy? If your political career is in tatters, so be it. If the pressure on you to step down is so great, step down. But don't act like you have some affliction other than liking sex, which I'd think probably isn't too uncommon even among Congressman.

While I don't think his sex life has anything to do with whether or not he should stay in office, I don't see how you can like his behavior. His wife is pregnant, it's time to stop running around - actually that time ended when he slipped on the ring.

I never said I liked his behavior, just that I liked him. That said, I actually don't think what he did was that big a deal, just stupid. As far as I can tell he never actually consummated any of these flirtations, so as far as I'm concerned it hasn't crossed the line from harmless fantasy to infidelity. Even if it had, it's still not a capital offense. This is a scandal because that's what we do in this country, we have scandals.
 
Yeah this seriously rates pretty low on the infidelity scale. So many have done so much more.
 
I think he's a dickface just because he lied for so long about it and was willing to go along with the conspiracy theory that it got hacked. Now he doesn't even want to own up to the fact that he did something unethical while serving in Congress. He can pay women to shove lubed zucchinis up his butt for all I care but don't lie, then confess but act like you did nothing wrong, all while representing your part of the country.
