Any chance Kindom Hearts will come to GC?

Well technically you will be able to play the sequel to Kingdom Hearts on the Gamecube if you have a Gameboy Player. But the game continues on the PS2 (which people will actually consider to be more of the sequel, but the story will actually continue from the GBA version coming out)
I doubt KH will ever make it to GC. Nintendo was lucky just to get FF:CC.
Not really since nintendo footed the bill. I think that Kingdom Hearts would sell better on the GCN so maybe

Pretty strange when you think about it, it's has kind of a kiddy feel to it, making it a prime candidate for GC.

There is probably a very, very slim chance if the Big N shells out lots of money to get it through like they did with Cyrstal Chronicles (and CC is sucessful)....But given the strong relationship Square-Enix has with Sony i wouldn't be holding my breath if I was you.

Well, I think Square-Enix should've done CC as a favor since NES and SNES started their series. I think it's stupid how many ppl forget it started out on NES and SNES. I remember when Twin Snakes was announced and some idiot sent in a letter complaining about Konami betraying Sony, it started on Nintendo as well.

The younger generation of gamers tend to believe that games were non-exsistant prior to 1995.

HELLZ yeah, punks these days have no respect!!! I agree I think Square should lay off Sony's nut sack for a while and go home (Nintendo) and make great games again. I haven't enjoyed a Square game since they left the big N anyway, although CC is really fun.

I'm not positive but I'm pretty sure Sony is a stock holder of Square-Enix. So it would make sense that most their games would be PS2 exclusives. And all the Square-Enix games that have come out for the GBA and GC have been published by Nintendo. So I guess Nintendo would have have to front the money if they really wanted more games.

I never heard of the stock share sony holds (whihc is majority for the most part) was ever dropped if you think about it SQR has yet to put anything on any other console to hurt ps2 exclusive wise.

either way this late since KH release I doubt u will see it brought over as KH2 will be here shortly on ps2 exclusively.

but hey u never know if KH 1.5 sells well enough.

Square goes where the money is guys. There isnt enough money in the GC to justify moving a money making series to a weaker selling platform unless they get a monatary insentive. Twin Snakes isn't a betrayal when PSone had the first MGS anyway. The updated version would sell better on a platform that dosent have it at all, and if it was made well enough it might even sell a couple of systems along the way.

And chances are the puny 20% sony had invested in became worth a lot less once Squeenix was formed from the joining of to already large companies.

Speaking of money. Old Bill Gates is sitting on over $50 billion in cash at Microsoft. So the question is when are more titles coming to the Xbox? Is Microsoft willing to buy more of the gaming companies?

After FF the movie was a diaster, Sony bought 18 percent of Square. After the merger it holds about 9 percent.

That is why no core FF games can come out on other systems anymore.

and the-magicbox.com said look for budokai 2 in August

What the hell, I guess I'll play devil's advocate. There is a port of KH coming out for GBA, and most ports on GBA have connectivity with its respective GC title. Perhaps theres a 1 in a million chance... but still a chance

I' m really gald metal gear and finial fantsy bailled from nintendo. I do love nintendo but because of sony we got ffvii and all of the metal gears so im glad. I think nintendo will go the sega route here in the next 5 years and just make games. It just cost to much to develkop new consoles. Nintendo just had pretty much nintendo games. why pay for development when they could just realses nintendo on x-box! sad but true! Hows sega doing by the way?

you are a huge moron

bukkake 2 is for gba

metal gear is one of the worst things to ever happen to video games.

Pretty crappy as a whole. Thats what happens when you try to rebuild a company solely on sports games.

I think Sega's problem right now is probably not knowing who to support fully, None of the stuff they've given xbx has done much good, the sonic's arent exploding on GC like they hoped and nothing they've given Sony has been a big "million seller".... actually after looking over this list maybe they just need to make BETTER games.

While M$ might have a butt load of cash to spend the question on their minds has got to be "how much can we spend to buy developers and games and not spend ourselves into a hole?" They arnt making any money on the xbx(they;ve been selling at a loss since day one and pouring billions into markting with minimal result), game licencing fees and live subscritions have to be their only revenue at this point. SO the amount of money they'd need to fling at Squeenix to secure a decent exclusive title would single handedly pull the nation of Japan out of it's econimic slide.

Solely on sports games?? Yeah right cuz EA has a lot of difficulty building a company on sports games.....Besides not only are Sega sports games the only ones that can hang with EA sports, but also Sega has released a ton of sucessful games since they started concentrating only on game development and it has helped their company out gain some respect since the DC flop.

Sega's really problem is a fickle market. Games like GunValkyrie and Super Monkey Ball should have sold like hotcakes if people bought games based on quality not based on names. Several folks that visit my local game stores refuse to buy anything Sega after their botched handling of everything that isn't genesis.

Its sorta like Nintendo games right now. No one should try and claim that the majority of Nintendo's 1st party games are shit, as they arent. However, when you give a non-informed consumer a choice between...say Mario Kart and Vice City...they're going to go with Vice City.

As a owner of nearly all Sega's created non-sports titles for the xbox, I can safely say that there isn't a bad one in the bunch. Games like PDO and JSRF should have brought Sega millions, but they didn't. And I'm not limiting it to on xbox. Virtua Fighter 4 should have flown off the shelf, rather than following behind Bloody Roar 4.

Its just the market right now. After being burned on the 32x, Saturn, and Dreamcast...the average consumer wants nothing to do with Sega unless it involves the bargin bin.

What successful games are these? The ones that caused Sega cut their projected profit in half?

I love Sega, but I'm calling a spade a spade here. They tried to rebuild their company on ESPN Football and it backfired. And as I mentioned before, an uninformed consumer doesn't want anything to do with a perceived dead company.

Edit: I think it was NFL 2k3, not ESPN football, either way it was football title.

I kinda disagree. Yeah I chose PS2 over DC but that's not because I thought the DC was a BAD system. I hated Sega and expected then to do something horrendously stupid....

And they did, they abandoned the DC.

But that dosent mean I didn't like the games they were putting out, Crazy Taxi was digital crack for me, and I was happy to play that and many other Sega games. They are extremely better off as a Software company because they rarely did stupid things in terms of games. (aside from nearly killing off the sonic franchaise and very nearly killing Phantasy star after 2).

Monkey Ball and Billy Hatcher are cool but it's selling on a system with a weak market (GC)... They need to go multiplat, Gunvalk I heard lots of mixed reviews on and JSRF and Crazy Taxi 3 were just plain bad compared to their previous installments, Rez (while awesome as a shooter) is just to weird for the average gamer and people are getting boared with VF(beautiful game but I might as well learn real martial arts for all the punishment I get from this game).
imo, if square moved to any system, then people will follow
Agreed, since imo PS2 is so successful because of Square-Enix. If the FF series were to move to a different company *GC*... we could be seeing some major change the following year or next gen consoles.

I'll agree by saying that, yes, these games have fallen short of being a finacial success that Sega wanted them to be. But they've development some excellent games, that despite poor selling, were a great success in my mind because they were so well done (and in the minds of many critics). I just think it has helped them gain some of thier respect back since having to be laughed at for bowing out of the console industry.

Despite poor software sales, Sega is finally becoming profitable again. But I heard they lost some talent when they reorganized the developement houses and when Sammy purchased some of their shares. So it will take them a while to gain back their rep.
