Any deals on a PS3 system or bundle?

My original A01 60GB is now getting the flashing red light. I'm going to get it fixed by Sony for $150, but in the meantime I'm in the market for a new slim model or bundle.

I'm worried this might be too early to expect a deal with the x-mas season two months away yet. Any deals out there I might have missed?

If you're going to get it fixed for $150, then why not just go without it and safe yourself the extra cost to buy an entire new console!? Rich...

In any case, eBay is a solid spot to start as is Craigslist (both are pretty obvious), but maybe you could try an unexpected place like Dell.com (sometimes they sell consoles), maybe Amazon has something going on. No X-Mas deals yet though.

I figure even if the 60GB is fixed, it's only a matter of time before it dies again. Unless there is something I don't know about Sony's repairs of the 60GB. I've seen 3rd parties that re-ball the chips and provide a 1 year warranty, but I didn't trust them to handle any problem they find.

So it seemed the most prudent choice for me was to repair the 60GB and then sell it (maybe even make a little $$$ back on it.) And in the meantime find a new 320G slim.

According to Ben's Bargains the 120GB Slim is at Dell.com for $270 shipped (http://bensbargains.net/deal/158322/). Problem is I really need the 320GB since I had a 500G drive in my 60GB and it was over half-full.

Do they even sell the 320gb in the US without the move bundle? I mean, they might, but I haven't seen it.

The 250 might be the highest they sell standalone.

As for the 250, MSRP is what, $349? Walmart has a bundle with 2 games (1 of which has to be UFC 2010), and an extra controller for $399 (or $379 without the extra controller). Or substitute the controller for a PS3 remote + blu-ray movie for $9 more. Don't really see any deals on the console itself. Best Buy has a bundle with a free copy of Madden 11, though ($349)

Just fyi for comparison's sake, I bought my 250gb from Amazon about 6 weeks ago for $299. That was right after they announced the 320s for a MSRP of $349, so I imagine they were trying to get rid of their 250s. I still don't think we've actually seen the 320s for $349 get released yet, though...

I'm holding out for Black Friday for a PS3. Hoping for a $299 price with at least three games, maybe extra controller, think its possible?

I fully expect all Christmas deals to include the move and be not what I want.

I got my PS3 on Black Friday last year off Amazon. $299 for 120GB + Infamous, Killzone 2 and a $10 Amazon credit. The slim was still pretty new, so I'm happy with the price. Be prepared to be clicking refresh on Amazon.com at 3am, though lol.

If you don't mind signing up for a credit card, Citi is offering a $100 statement crdit if you make $300 worth of purchases in the first 3 months. It's pretty damn painless

Here's the offer link: http://creditcards.citicards.com/us...9&ProspectID=2D34067F03574B2D8C70FF6D9D336AE6

If interested this is what I suggest you do:

- Apply for the credit card and hopefully get approved
- Buy the 320GB PS3 Move bundle at Amazon for $399 shipped
- Sell/trade the Playstation Move bundle if you don't want it for ~80-100 (on here, ebay, craigslist, etc..)
- Wait 3+ months and get the statement credit

$399 - 80 - 100 = ~$219 for your 320GB PS3

Of course you and others can still do the above, but wait till Black Friday for any deals, and get it for even less since it'll be within that 3 month window.

Also not sure why no one mentioned this, but why don't you just get the smaller PS3 and upgrade the HDD yourself? You can just buy the 160GB PS3 at $199 after the statement credit (add $1 filler to bring it over $300), and upgrade the HDD for cheap. That's less hassle than having to sell the move bundle and such

I'm hoping for a black friday deal. I remember last year there were tons of PS3 bundles at my local Bestbuy, even a few a day after. I might save up for one that way. Maybe a two game bundle again this year. Here's to hoping for a great bundle!
