Controller type doesn't matter as long as it works, the cheaper the better. Same goes for Rock Band 2.
Any deals on Rock Band 2 for X360 and a guitar controller for X360?

As for the guitar, just look around, theres usually a sale from amazon or redoctane at least once a month. Circuit City had some for 20 bucks leading up to Christmas, Best Buy also was having some good deals on X360 guitars leading up to Christmas. Just shop around for it. I recommend either the Xplorer (came with GH2) or the Les Paul (came with GH3 or GH Aerosmith). Those are BY FAR the best guitars.
