My mom asked me about them this morning. Basically there isn't much space so the combo seemed like the best bet. She mainly wants it for cable but the DVD bonus seems enticing too.WalMart is having a sale on TVs. I don't think they're combo sets, but there might be some. Read it here or some other site. Google Walmart Labor Day TV sale.
Slightly off topic, but why do you want a combo set. I always heard they were bad to get because if the DVD player goes out, you have to buy the whole thing again since you cant just replace the broken player. Since DVD players are so cheap, small and easily replaceable it just makes more sense to me to buy them separately. Not knocking your idea, just curious.
True but that's still a 2 month wait. The cable guy just put a new line for TV this morning in the room she wants this combo player in so we're looking to get something ASAP.I agree, you're much better off getting a tv and standalone dvd player (though honestly blu ray players aren't much more). It would probably be a lot cheaper too since combos seem to sell at an unjustified premium. Amazon often has good prices on TVs, and I like shopping there because the reviews are usually more detailed than on sites like walmart/bestbuy. Of course if you can wait a few weeks, black friday is definitely the best time to find a deal![]()
