Any thoughts on the SuperCard Lite?

CAGiversary!
Greetings. I recently heard about the SuperCard Lite, and am interested in getting it for some audio and video files for the long bus rides to and from university. Now, since I'm only using it for multimedia and not roms, do I still need a passkey or can I just use the SC by itself? Also, if anybody does have this, can they give a quick review on it? Thanks in advance.

there are forums dedicated to this sort of thing. but you need a passkey or flash your ds to run ds software. you can run gba stuff without the passkey, and they do have gba media players etc.

Well, I did manage to find some more information on this. However, I still haven't been able to find an answer to my other question. Do I still need some sort of passkey device to insert into the DS cartridge slot even if I only want to play media?

if you don't have a passkey device, you can only run gba software. so you can run a gba media player, but not moonshell since it's ds homebrew.

Without the passkey the Supercard Lite can only do GBA software. If the audio/video files you want to watch take up two screens...won't work. You need a PassKey which is anywhere from $20-$30.

Thanks for the help guys. I think I'm just going to save a bit extra and get a passkey just in case I want to run some homebrew down the road.

I have a passkey if you want it, if you have a ds lite you need to have a passkey 2 but from what i've read there is some way to make a passkey into a passkey 2, I just have no idea how.
