Any Upcoming Deals on the PSP Itself?

Hello All,

I was wondering if there were any deals coming up or currently available for the Sony PSP System itself. I did a search and didn't come up with anything.

Is a price drop on black Friday likely you think? Thanks in advance for the help.

But neither are any good games. I've got nothing against PSP, but since you held out through the advertising blitz at launch, I see no reason not to wait a bit longer.

I would say wait. There are not any exceptional games out right now and you can't do any homebrew on a PSP you buy now unless you manage to find one with ver 1.5 firmware.

Wish I had!

I'd wait longer like I have. There aren't any good games for it yet and since they got rid of firmware 1.5 you can't have any homebrew stuff, which IMO is the best part of the system. Unless you want to rebuy all of your DVDs, I'd just hold out. I'm waiting till at least a $100 price drop from it's current price point on the bundle.

Best deal I've seen is at Game Crazy. It's just the regular MSRP, but you get 12 free rentals, which is worth $72.

I'm actually picking one up today or tomorrow. Since I have a 1GB mem stick, I'll be using it as an MP3 player, and depending on which firmware comes with it, I'll either use it for homebrew software or as a wi-fi web browser.

Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee, Lumines, Ridge Racers, and Wipeout, IMHO, are essential purchases. where you people got your information about "nothing good on it" is beyond me as those four are the standouts of an otherwise sub-par offering.

While the four games someone posted are good, if you don't like playing racing or golf games that much there really isn't much for you out right now. I would wait longer because not only will the system eventually be cheaper, but all of the launch games and some other good ones will hopefully be cheaper as well.

There is also one kickass puzzle game.

How long should we wait? A year? Two? There isn't going to be any price drops until at least next year, and I would venture a guess that it may not happen until at least Q3 of 2006, as not to interfere with the PS3 launch.

Everything may be expensive right now, and there may not be much out, but you could turn that positive by not spending $600 at once. Spread it out, and you'll be ready to go when more games arrive.

Or you could just wait.... besides I'm sure the GTA game for PSP will sell although people might be reluctant to buy it and a PSP at the same time, at around $300. But he is right, it's not worth getting right now. Plus one might just save up their money to buy the new Xbox360 coming out.
