My fiance and I are contemplating honeymoon options, and we're leaning towards New Zealand for part of the trip. Anybody ever been/live there and have suggestions on what to check out? We'd be going in November and would probably be in the country at most 10 days. The only thing we've determined is that we want to go to Waitomo. Queenstown sounds neat, but I dunno if we can do two islands in that time.

I was thinking the same thing, although if they went there they would only be able to see the tribute band, Like of the Conchords.

They're actually going to be in San Francisco next month! Anyways, I didn't give you guys enough credit; I was totally expecting to hear responses about Lord of the Rings by now ;)

New Zeland is a Religious freaks paradise. They recently had a march and protest about spanking there children, they speak mostly French, and if I am mistaken they are dutch related.

However I heard of vacation spots there but I do not know of any. It depends on what you and your wife wants to do.

They mostly speak English, and NZ was colonized by the English.

I remember that NZ or some other country in that area has a huge French speaking population. Either way there is speaking people in the area.

Ohh and tell Frodo "don't wear the ring"

I've been there before. Beautiful fucking country. Seriously.

I stayed mainly in Christchurch and Queenstown. That was around...8 years ago? Anyway, I remember CC's botanical gardens being amazing. I did some shallow speed boating in Queenstown which was awesome if you like a good thrill ride. Food was great, people were exceptionally kind, and again gorgeous countryside. I think if there's a heaven it probably looks a lot like New Zealand in the early spring.

Also, that Redie guy is on the strongest form of crack available. His post in the Nazi thread was gut-busting.
