Anyone have any problems with their Guitar Hero controller?

I played the game last night, put the controller back in the box and came to play it tonight and it won't work. I have done nothing to it that would lead me to think I damaged it. Anyone else experience any random problems/not workings?

You have to plug it in each time you want to play, not just the first time.

Is your PS2 a launch one by any chance? My old one's controller ports are getting pretty shot. I'll have to jiggle the DS2 around to get it to be recognized, but I haven't had problems with the GH controller.

No - I think it's a second year model. Whenever it dropped to $199 is when I bought it. I can play the game just fine with my DS2 controller. For some odd reason, the GH controller will not respone, even with controller port changing and jiggling on both ends. =\ There was nothing leading up to it, it just stopped working completely.

I haven't had any problems with my guitar personally, but my work's demo of it has started getting testy. Sometimes the controller'll freeze in mid-play or in the menus. We've just been restarting the game though, and that's been taking care of it.

I'd call Red Octane.

I haven't had any problems with mine, and I've logged a ton of time on this thing. I'd see about trying to get an exchange wherever you got it at. Unless of course...you were just jamming too hard on it, got to the end of Ace of Spades, and just decided to slam the guitar into the ground a la London Calling...

Try it at a friends house, that will let you know if its the controller or the system. I hope when I get mine that it runs beautifully for years.

Ya, I tried resetting it, turning it off and on, nuthin'.

And I'd call Red Octane, but I was planning on having it out to play today when I have company over, so back to the store for a new one I will go. =\

I wish I had done something like that, then I know why it stopped working! Maybe playing as the punk guy who always slams his guitar into the ground made my controller fearful and unhappy, hehe.

I am having a friend of my bring his PS2 to see if that could be the case, even though I don't think it should be. This would be the first time something didn't work on my PS2...but alas, maybe it's time. =\

The controller seems like the kind of thing that will stand the test of time, so maybe I just got a one of a kind lemon. =P
