Anyone know how to get a ps2 game working?

i just picked up fight night used, and its in AMAZING shape, however it wont play, and its NOT my ps2. i had it fixed 3 months ago, on top of which, i tryed other games, blue and dvd games, and all started up fine.

anyone have any ideas? this is most confusing...
 
If you bought the game from a store, id bring it back and let them know. Or if you have one of those disc cleaners you could always try that.
 
punq, do you have a gamestop or ebgames accessible to you? you can always say that you're thinking about trading it in or something, hehe
 
i CAN take it back, but it only cost me 15$ and they had no other used copies of the games, i want to play this.

iot has no instructions so thats like 40% less from eb

no, I was saying that you can "use" their ps2 to see if it plays, say like you wanna trade it in blah blah, they'll try the game, then you have another "accessible" ps2.
 
Maybe the reason it's in such pristine shape is because it wouldn't play on someone elses PS2 and they returned it. It sounds like the disk itself is flawed, if everyother one of your games works and this one dosent you may have the bite the bullet and take it back.

Try booting it up in diagnostic mode, if that dosent do anything it's probably a lost cause.
