Anyone see Boodrayne or Grandma's Boy?

CAGiversary!
I saw both yesterday. What are the 0dds of two video game movies coming out on the same day? (I know one isn't based on a game but games play a huge part in the plot)

Mild Spoilers!!!!!

To be honest I never played the Bloodrayne games, but the movie is a prequel so there aren't any Nazis. There is however a very interesting cast, and I thought the movie was alright. They did a poor job with the end, and some parts of the action were blurry and hard to follow. There is a sex scene that just came out of nowhere, so if you are going just because you want to see Lokken then you'll be satisfied.

As for grandma's boy, it was hilarious. There are lots of videogame references and some very strange characters in the movie. Its not going to be the next 40 year old virgin or american pie, but it is worth a watch.

I think a certain line from a certain review of Grandma's Boy sums up why the creation of this movie made me sigh:
""Grandma's Boy" is a stoner comedy, and there's not much to criticize since the target demographic will most likely laugh at anything put up on the screen. Yet, "Boy" distinguishes itself from the pack by being about something that stoners love: video games."

Yep.

I saw Bloodrayne opening day. It was the best Boll film by far (I make it a point to go opening day to every one of his movies, it's just a tradition) and was at the very least funny, like HOTD and unlike AITD. I think the cast full of known actors helped out quite a bit; many of them did the best they could with the trash screenplay. It also had the most random sex (consensual rape?) scene in non-porno movie history; it was kind of like the random one in AITD, but a LOT worse, thus making it a lot more funny. Meat Loaf's scene was hilarious. Also, it was a pleasant surprise to see the trailer for In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale right before the movie started.

I don't think I'll see Grandma's Boy because it just doesn't look funny.

It is his best game flick so far, which really isn't saying much. And Dungean Siege has a chance of being good. The real question is will this become a series. I'd personaly like to see that. Although Old West Bloodrayne like he said on G4 sounds odd.

Uwe was on G4's attack of the show. They asked him basically why do you movies suck but they were extremely nice in the asking kinda beating round the bush. They basically said we don't think you suck but everyone on the internet does. He said two things, I always wish I could do better, that he never has enough time, money etc to make the movie as good as he likes. All of his movies come from independent distributors. BTW I don't plan on seeing either movie. From the interview he seems like a nice guy doing his best. But saying that does not make anything better.

Michael Madsen's line in the preview for Bloodrayne just shows how bad the movie is "She could be the end, or the begining, of the world, as we know it"
I'm avoiding both like the plague.
Which begs the question, would you rather see these movies or get the plague? My choice would be the plague. :D

As if there would ever be any doubt. Anything is better than sitting through one of his visual and aural tranwrecks. :bomb:

OK, now I have to at least rent it when the DVD hits.
Uwe Boll sucks at directing. A blind retard with no legs can make better films:booty:
uwe does suck...but im going to give him the win against the blind retard.

Yeah, that delivery was really awful.

And that was in the carefully selected clips from the movie intended to make you want to see it.
Congratulations on having no taste, OP.
Well, I was scrolling down the replies to look for the first person to point out what shitty taste in film the OP has. All I need to add is a "QFT."

You can spare your dignity an just pick up the newest in the "Wet Librarians" series from your local adult bookstore instead.

I saw Grandma's Boy and it is just too silly for most to enjoy. If like dick and fart jokes then this will entertain you and I like silly movies so it was funny to me.

Off topic but.........SPACE BUTLER!!!!!!!!!!!! Love it!
If you're a fan of the 'Happy Madison' movies, then you won't be disappointed. Grandma's Boys is fucking HILARIOUS
I loved Happy Gilmore. I loved Billy Madison. Was Big Daddy a Happy Madison production? (I know it was more dramatized, but it had a lot of the actors that seem consistent in the movies.) Water Boy was one too, right?

To be perfectly honest, I thought that Grandma's Boy looked pathetic. Not even remotely funny. I don't know what it is... but it's like ,"Damn, that production company went down the drain!"
