I just got a 27" imac and have a copy of windows 7 I was saving to put on it. Anyone use windows 7 through bootcamp yet, even though its not supported by Apple? Wondering if it would be better to wait for the bootcamp update or just go for it.

I've got a copy of Home Premium that I would love to put on my macbook pro. It's got Windows XP on there now. I've read that you can only install it on one system.. is that true? I'd hate to put it on my Macbook and not be able to put it on my desktop once I upgrade that.

I am currently using windows 7 on my macbook pro and it is running nearly perfectly. In fact, I just finished an 80 hour play through of Dragon Age Origins.

My only issues have been with seldom freezes that occur while surfing the net. (Not sure what causes this issue) These freezes literally lock my machine and require me to do a hard reboot. This is not a huge issue for me as I only really use the windows partition for gaming.

Well I went ahead and started to install it through bootcamp, and I got the black screen of death. I went and removed the partition and now when I reboot the mac I get a black screen with

No bootable device - insert boot disc and press any key.

I have to hold down the options key when it boots up and select the Mac HD, even though there is no windows partition anymore. Strange.

that is odd... make sure when installing windows 7 that you have another computer next to you or previously printed instructions that can walk you through the process. As for your current issue when rebooting, it sounds as though your computer is trying to boot into the windows partition that is supposed to be there. to fix this, log into osx, open system preferences, open startup disk under system and make sure that mac osx is selected as your primary os. hopefully this resolves your problem.
