I didn't crap in your thread, I made a lighthearted joke. I've yet to see someone make $4,000 in credit after spending $25. If you'd notice, anyone who has a massive amount of credit at EB usually scammed them into 25 copies of Primal, and there's no 'jealousy' out of that. Allow me to explain.

Guy finds Suikoden 2 for $7.98. He's hit with lighthearted "I hate you!" responses. Every single person on CAG is jealous.

A guy brags about his EB taking 25 copies of Primal, which allows him to order a PSP. He's hit with very ugly glames, and CAG is pissed.

So don't scam, be a nice CAG. :p

I didn't call this guy a hoarder. I never, ever said he was a hoarder. I could care less if he was. I said that people make mass amounts at EB by hoarding. He said he wants to make mass amounts at EB. I told him not to hoard. He didn't hoard here. There was no hoarding, I did not call him a hoarder, and he did not hoard. I was telling him be sure not to hoard when he makes thousands at EB. There's no flaming here, he made good finds, he just needs to read better and think before lashing out against a personal attack that was never there.

Don't worry Scorch, I know the difference b/t being decent about this whole thing and being a straight up asshole and bombing a game store with 75 drakes. I was making a lighthearted joke about being a CAG my self.

I know, some guy started a thread bragging about how he traded in all these primals at a store, and made himself look like a real douche. then again, some people just discretely mentioned in the EB trade in deal threads about how they have hundreds of dollars on a card and spent very little...you can tell they've scammed out somehow, NOT THAT I EVEN CARE! there's bigger fish to fry in life than to orchestrate free credit at a game store.

but scorch, what i can't tell is when you are joking and when you aren't...every thread i see you in, you seem like you're calling someone out on something. sorry for the misunderstanding.

but anyway, i see nothing wrong with selling a few rare games that i find in stores to offset the rest of my purchases. If that's a huge problem, then...oh well.

well, i'm not gonna lie about things either-- part of my good deal was scoping those. i wasn't being a shit dude. 2 copies of RE:CV on clearance? that means no one has touched them for months, maybe even years. along comes me, who sees them, needs money and knows they are worth something, so I take advantage.

bottom line, not everything has a clear moral line running straight through it.

maybe posting here and saying "yo dudes, go to compusa on michigan ave. and maybe a copy of RE:CV will be there" would have been the right thing to do. maybe i would have just caused problems for folks who decided to run down there and deal with that congested, expensive part of the city. try not to be condescending until you got all the facts bud. no hard feelings though, i could see where it might look slimy.

The purpose of CAG has always been to help find and distribute deals to gamers so that people can play the games they enjoy without paying as much, do people sometimes buy up a ton of copies and trade them in for store credit? Sure. Do people buy stuff up and sell it on ebay for a huge profit? You bet they do. But each time someone does that they limit the ability of other gamers to obtain the item, now would someone else have bought that game up cheap and acutally played it? Who's to say? We all know that reselling and hoarding goes on, but since that is in direct opposition to the purpose of the site most of the people who do it keep more or less quite about it and what they especially don't do is create topic about it. It's nice that you got all those games so cheap but that last paragraph is a bit upsetting since that is the exact attitude we try not to foster here.

gotcha. i know all that...when i find deals, i post them...like my "ymmv- compusa clearance" thread. it would've been a different story if i found 10 copies of the game. then i would've told people to go there.

I fully realize that there are far better ways to make cash, but I've also noticed that the more people talk freely about reselling and EB/GS trade-ins on games the more that becomes the point of sales. The TRU sale turned more into a what store can I dump all this cheap loot at for credit more than hey there were a bunch of cheap games and I know a store that has some/ I picked some up that I would be willing to trade/sale for little profit to myself. My response to this has been an attempt to reduce such actions by confronting anyone who posts a bragging thread about it, which is how I interpreted your last paragraph. The sharing of deals and finds is what has kept CAG from turning into a hoarding site like Fat Wallet or a few game sites that I can think of.

you can still land it scorch, if they have all the same deals going...they have a deal for $10 off a purchase of $50 or more, if you pay with a Visa card (+ free slow shipping) that's at the website. there's a code that goes with it, check the deals forum for the sam goody thread.
