Are Advance Wars 2 (or AW:DS) or Fire Emblem must buys?

I have Advance Wars, and Fire Emblem: Scared Stones. Should I bother trying to pick up Advance Wars 2, AW: Dual Strike, or the original Fire Emblem?

I am currently enjoying AW very much, but have quite a ways to go before finishing it. My copy of FE:SS is sealed...

According to gamestop.com, there's a copy of AW2 near me. Should I scoop it up?? What about those others?

If you are enjoying Advance Wars I would pick up 2. Overall it's more of the same with a few added things. But if you want more Advance Wars I would get it. Fire Emblem is also great if you can find the original at a decent price I would also pick it up. But as Advance Wars the sequel to Fire Emblem is just more of the same not much of a sequel.

If you're going to get them all, play the GBA Advance Wars before the DS. The beauty of touch-screen play in Dual Strike makes it very difficult to go back to the GBA versions.
I for one love how finicky and inaccurate the AW: DS touch screen is! :p
Using the stylus instead of your thumb does wonders! ;) Seriously, you had problems with the touch screen?

Potentially stupid question--how exactly did you find this on the website? I can't find that game on there anywhere, and if there's one near me, I'd snap it up in a heartbeat.

Finish AW on the GBA - Find Advance Wars DS, get that and don't bother with AW 2 on the GBA. I couldn't tell you what to do for Fire Emblem...

Cool, thanks for the tip.

I highly recommend AW2 on its own; the (mostly) non-linear story mode is quite neat, and you're forced to use all of the different COs.

I also recommend Fire Emblem, but be warned; it's extremely linear and pretty difficult overall.

For Fire Emblem, I would play Sacred Stones. If you find it to be your type of game, then every other game in the series is worth getting. Though unfortunately that's currently limited to three (Fire Emblem, Sacred Stones, and Path of Radiance [and soon to be Goddess of Dawn on Wii]) in the US. From what I know, the stories are related, but Goddess of Dawn is probably the first localized game that directly follows a previous installment, so order isn't really important.

Fire Emblem is sooooo good. I really can't recommend it highly enough. It is hard as balls, though, like botticus said. But I don't mind playing the missions many times because they're so much fun. Sacred Stones is a bit easier, since you can replay missions to level up your characters. I would play that one, and if you love it, get more games in the series, but like people in this thread have said, the games are all very similar.

I have Advance Wars:DS but haven't played it yet. So I can't compare the two series.

Yeah, it's already a bit tough to find, so I might go see if they really do have it soon. I just heard it's a more of the same, so I wanted some opinions on if it was worth it or not. I suppose it's not going to go down too much in value in the short future if I decide to sell/trade it.
