Are cheapassgamers employed?

yup, work for Huffy or actually now NASCO as Huffy was bought out by them. Glorified bike assembler/repair man.

I've been "between jobs" since late January, kind of sucks trying to find anything else right now.

I'm a graphic designer for Kohl's department stores (actually, It's a glorified production designer position). I hate it with a passion, but I'm happy to have a job.

Unemployed atm. Just moved to a new area and have about 15 applications turned in around town....kind of a lousy time to be looking for something though.

One step above entry level white collar job for a fortune 500 company that provides support for a much larger Fortune 500 company.

Working at a Borders before I head off to grad school. What they pay me pretty much explains why I've been coming here lately.

I'm a web developer for Bemis Company Inc. They make flexible packaging for many food companies (snack foods, meets, cheese, candy, etc..) Most of the products you buy off the shelves - we make the packaging for.

I'm a recent engineering graduate but I can't find professional work. No one is hiring, and I've been looking for a year along the Northeast Corridor.

I am working currently as a temp engineer for a local power utility. It's not profesional pay, but I've been there two years now and at least I make a living wage. For the past six months my supervisor has been trying to get me hired startiing at a six figure salary, but I haven't heard word yet because it takes months for the company to even go from a submitted application to getting an interview.

But I know buddies who have graduated a year before me, and still haven't found work. That's two years without getting a good job. I ran into one buddy working at the gateway store just before it shut down. He was getting laid off.

But no one is hiring around here. And when a job opens up, there are twenty overqualified applicants. Competition is fierce.

But I am working on a P2P program idea. Even had a couple economists from Michigan State become interested in it. Hopefully if I can actually code this stuff I'll be saying, "I'm rich bitch!"

working at an answering service. not the greatest pay but wat the hell, it made all my games possible and theres a couple fine ladies to look at

I'm a broke ass high school senior but my dad's a gamer and works at Shippingport Nuclear Power plant, he is an Adv. Nuclear Technologist or something. Sucks that college grads like yourself can't get hired, but the economy is turning up for the better mate. Hopefully in 4 years when I'm done with my accounting degree I can find a job in the field.
I work at Target right now, but I'm looking to switch to an IT position in a company soon.
im at target too it sucks

I work as a liason between a midwestern ISP and all the hundreds of telephone companies they provide service for. I get to be involved in all the problems but rarely get to iron out the solutions. It sucks, but its a decent paying job.

I am a structural/architectural engineer for an engineering consulting firm that does the engineering for a lot of hospitals and other big construction. I just started two weeks ago after sitting at home on my ass (but working part time) for almost a year since I graduated in June of 2003. Sitting on my ass was my choice though, I needed a vacation before I started a real job.

I am making good money now but working a lot of hours, so that just means more games buy less time to get deals. Hopefully I can keep my cheapass ways. Of course I am living in LA now so everything is also more expensive.

I write for small music and political magazines (like http://www.performermag.com for example), do the layout and graphics for the GSU newspaper, and go to school there. I'm a senior getting a Poli Sci degree; I'm currently kissing multiple asses to secure entry to a good grad school. I'm also a musician/songwriter, but it don't pay for shit.

i deliver newspapers to convenience stores and gas stations.....not the best job in the world...but the pay is great...by the way...it would be interesting to know the age of everyone with their job status....i know there was already an age post....but this is a 2 for 1

im 21

Been working at GameStop since I was 16, now a month short of 19.

And, when I wanna be, I'm a Junior College student. I was at a University last semester, then a bizarre planetary alignment led to me skipping over a month of class.

Work for a private security company ADT. I answer customer service calls. It sucks, but so does not making a living wage.

I'm soon to be working for Rooto-Rooter though as the guy who dispatches and coordinates plumbing jobs.

Still, this is all just biding time until I can become a cop...

If you want money, don't look at GameStop. It's nice for the discount, but that's about it.

I know what you mean, but for me though it's OK right now. I've been working there for a month now in the overnight shift stocking shelves and other things like that, so I don't deal with any customers. Overall, it's good so far.

8 year Air Force veteran but now that I have the income to buy games I don't have the time to play them like i used to

You have to be 16 to work at Gamestop, right? Anyone know what the initial pay is that they offer?
And also if I have a GameInformer card (10% discount) when I sign up do I get the additional 20/30% off?
Thanks. Gamestop's only 5 minutes away from my house so I want to work there. And if its around 7$ an hour that's fine.
This won't be for about another year though.. X_x

I'm a grad school student, getting a master's in computer science. I'm getting paid tuition and a stipend to be a teaching assistant: last semester I taught four labs, and this semester I'm grading for two classes. Starting next week, I'll be switching over to a techie position, which is a student who works on the computers when they break and who administers the department's Linux network.
