Are these games any good?

Okay, so I went to EB tonight and found they had a few SNES and NES games there. Some of them I have never heard of, and I thought I'd grab them. Are the following games any good?

Phalanx (SNES)
Actraiser 2 (SNES)
Eye of the Beholder (SNES)
Dragon View (SNES)
Brainlord (SNES)
Ikari Warriors (NES)

Total: $17.00

They all were games I have never heard of and have never played. Maybe a few of them are rare?
 
I loved Ikari Warriors back in the day.

It's an up scroller where you can play 2-player simultaneous. You're a Rambo type and can jump in tanks, etc.

Don't know if it would hold up today or not.
 
Actraiser is much better than Actraiser 2 IMO. 2 is good if you like side scrollers.

Phalanx was a good shooter back in the day.

None of those are rare.

Eh, it didn't really matter if they were rare or not; I'd never sell them anyway! Glad to hear a few are good though.
 
Phalanx had awesome box art if I remember correctly... good game too. I loved Ikari Warriors when I was little - stay away from IW2 though... blech...

The old guy is on the game, but they were all cart only. I thought I had read that it was a shooter...which I like.
 
The first Actraiser is so awesome. And I think you can find it for not a whole lot. SimCity-type gameplay with action sequences. Believe me, it does work, as odd as it may sound.
 
man, ikari warriors is up there as one of the great co-op games of all time, imo

all decent games, except ive never played phalanx
 
So, what kind of game is Actraiser 2? And, what kind of differences does it offer from the first?

And thanks for the opinions guys. I think I will be keeping the games then! :D
 
Actraiser 2 is an action sidescroller in which you play the role of god. You fight demons to save your subjects, it's pretty fun. The first Actraiser was really good, and blended in some sim/strategy elements, it's a shame they didn't carry over.

The action in Actraiser 2 is much improved though.

Phalanx is a great space shooter, despite the terriblly hilarious cover.
 
There was a couple other titles I almost bought. I can only remember one. What do you guys think of:

Dino Riki (NES) ?

There was one other I almost bought. Now I can't remember the damn name!
 
I loved ActRaiser 1, but didn't like Actraiser 2. They emphasized the action sequences while making them much harder, and kind of screwed the simulation parts.

Ikari Warriors was tons of fun for two players back in the day. One player, not so much. Make sure to get the continue code (A B B A I think, as someone mentioned). Also, you can split tanks and choppers - vital to success. One caveat though: it only scrolls forward and it is possible to get a player stuck and have to reset! :(
 
Everything in there was worthwhile for the price and some like Brainlord would be worth that price all by themselves if the genre is a favorite.
 
Thanks guys. Now, what about DinoRiki? It had a weird title, and I nearly picked it up. Is it any good? I think it was $2.
