are these laptops any good?

Between those two, the Toshiba is a better system than the HP.    Toshiba has a quad-core AMD processor versus the dual-core Intel processor.

I agree about the Toshiba being the better of the two. Since it has a quad core processor and twice as big of a hard drive. But you may want to either post a link to the laptop you already have. Since these laptops maybe similar or barely better than what you currently have.

its an hp stream 13, i'm pretty sure i cant upgrade either the hard drive or the ram

i don't need a tb of space, 500 gb is plenty

i actually was going to buy the asus before going to work but for some reason, the code wasnt working so i didnt buy anything, ill keep an eye out for the next time they have a sale

Is this your laptop?

http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msusa/en_US/pdp/HP-Stream-13-c077nr-Signature-Edition-Laptop/productID.309174500

There is usually a model number after the name (hp stream 13  ..........) with the dots being the model number. Usually looks like gibberish.

If that is what you have then thats more like a netbook than a full fledged laptop. Since it only has 32gb of storage. But if you want to add some storage you can get a micro sd card for fairly cheap 64gb cards are usally $20 - $25 bucks. And both of those laptops are much better than what you have.

With "back to school" sales coming up you may want to wait a few weeks since about every store that sells laptops will have them on sale. When buying a laptop just look at what you are going to be doing with it. Then come up with a price range. Then start looking, because every company sells a lot of different models.
