Assassins Creed Corrupt Data

probablysober

CAGiversary!
Sorry if this has been gone over before but nothing came up when I searched for it.

I recently got Assassins Creed for the PS3 and when I attempted to play it I had to first download the 1.10 game patch. Once that was done and installed it told me the data was corrupt and to uninstall it. It did this each time. Does anyone know how to get this game to run?

I have a 80gig PS3 if it matters.

My only ideas so far that I don't have time to test would be to disconnect my PS3 from the internet, let the game install, then reconnect it and let it patch itself.

EDIT

Since this game is apparently coming out as a greatest hits title I will list how I got it to at least start:

Delete any game data for it.

Disable your internet connection on the PS3.

Go to play the game, let it install itself.

Once the game has installed exit out of it.

Re-enable your internet connection.

Start the game again, let it download and install the patch.

It should at least start up now, no idea if any other problems may occur later on in the game though.

Well my guess seems to be correct (until something else happens). So if anyone else runs into this problem here is how I got the game to play.

Go into your network settings and disable your internet connection. After that start up the game, let it install. Exit.

Go back and re-enable your internet connection. Start the game again and let it install the patch. It should now run.

No idea if any other problems will happen later on in the game though.
